I am not an astronomer, in fact, I have never had much of an interest in it, but what I read of the link to Olof Johnsson is amazing.
IMHO, this type of article is one that has been specifically assigned by the GB. Either there is rumor going around the organization about the flaws in the 607 doctrine, especially with 2014 getting so close, and the GB needs to shore up support for their doctrine, or, they decided to reinvestigate it, much like Fred Franz assigned Ray Franz to do in '78 or so, and whoever investigated came up with this absurd explanation so they wouldn't rock the boat by telling the GB the truth.
Could others have ruled

587 B.C.E.This reminds me of the explanation Fred Franz gave for what the Bible means when it says "Door to door." He said, "they could go in the front door and leave out the back door." I'm not sure the exact quote, and I don't have time to look it up, but that was the gist of it.

The brother who wrote that letter is the type of brother I miss in the organization. A true love for the brothers and for Jehovah God. Sadly, brothers like this have been replaced by arrogant, self-important men who are interested in moving up in order to feel important and to serve the WTBTS.

WT Society Alters their History as " The Party " did in George Orwell's 1984
by flipper infinally my wife and i got around to reading george orwell's " 1984 " .
as many of you know who have read the book that " the party " or " big brother " as the ruling power in the book is called ; constantly changes records of it's past dealings so as to deceive the public about any false forecasts they may have mistakenly made ; in an effort to put forth a positive image of itself it destroys past embarrassing records or paperwork which would expose the " party " as a failure.
much the way the wt society has altered their history to deceive the public and their own members.. notice this quote from george orwell's " 1984 " on pg.

In one of the study articles of Jan or Feb. of 1990, it read (To the best of my recollection): "Paul was laying the groundwork for a preaching work that would be complete by the end of our 20th Century."
This was changed in the later bound volumes to read "Paul was laying the groundwork for a preaching work that would be completed in our day."
How's that for a revision?

I love the way they treat elders and pioneers as special.......Did Jesus ever hold meetings with just a select few people (With the exception of his meetings with the apostles)......but, are they not allowing annointed sisters to attend if they are not pioneers? What about annointed brothers who aren't elders?
I remember when the JW book came out in about 1993....It was only given to Elders, MS's and Pioneers. My wife and I couldn't get one at the convention, because we weren't able to pioneer. This is one thing that disturbs me and always has.

NEW RUMOR: WT ALLOWS BIRTHDAYS
by J.R.R.Watchtower ini've just read at a spanish forum for ex-jw that the wt has cooked a new light article series about social celebrations, including birthdays and aniversaries.
according to a member of this forum 'in short' the wt will let witnesses to decide by 'their bible trained conscience' either they celebrate birthdays or not.
is this rumor based in some real facts or it's just bullshit?.

I had an elder once tell me (about 15 years ago) that celebrating Birthdays is not a disfellowshipping offense. However, celebrating Xmas is. He said it's because Birthdays are not a form of false worship, but the tradition of xmas is pagan.
He went on to tell me that if one were celebrating birthdays, they would't be a good example in the congregation so would not be used, but they wouldn't be disfellowshipped either.
