NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS!! I believed it so fully. There was never a doubt in my mind. Like keyser soze said, once it happened it happened fast.

Its a Year!
by Simon Morley ini know that this is not a new topic, or that important really.
however, it's now been a full year since we last attended any meetings or went out in fs.
just felt good today and jwn has been a great source of encouragement over the year.

Is there a "dominent family" in your hall?
by pontoon inback years ago when we were getting ready to split, i suggested that two or three bros and their families went to the other hall, otherwise 75% of our new body would be belong to the same family.
my idea was shot down.
so, any time we needed a show of hands, all six of those men (father, two sons, two son in laws, a brother to one son in law) always voted the same way.

My Story
by Crank!!! inmy story starts off the same way a lot of yours did, i was born into the jw cult in 1986. my mother got kicked out of her house for studying with her older sister when she was 15. my dad was also born into the jw world.
my mom and dad got divorced when i was 5 (my mother had scriptual grounds) so she raised my younger sister, brother and i mostly by herself.
because of her beliefs she adamantly did not want us having any worldly influences, so she chose to home school all of us.

Goodbye For Now, Friends
by agonus ini've been doing quite a bit of thinking, praying, and meditating as of late and i've decided to take my leave from this forum for the time being to focus on more positive and spiritual pursuits.i'm sure i'll check in now and again for tidbits and to say hi... in the meantime, y'all have been a great help on my journey to something or other.
good night, good luck, god bless, and much love to all,

I feel like I found me again
by gubberningbody ini'm sure others have had the same experience, but it's a bit odd to me now as i see how all the business of jw-land and the constant social proddings can keep a person from leaving for quite some time.. if it hadn't been for the inquisition i might not have left.. .
i'm glad they felt my wife and i were important enough to hound, because that helped immensely.. now for the past two years now i've finally gotten back to being the book-consuming, thinking-machine i was in the past.. .
i feel like i woke up, came home and found myself sitting in a chair reading some odd sort of esoterica and the me that was there said:.

I'm happy for you. I'm not sure what the "me" is since I was raised a JW.

I know I'm so silly for posting this, but why does the Super Mario Brothers music always go through my head when...
by Joliette in...i think about how much 'time' the society has left before all of its dirty little secrets are gonna catch up with them .

How often do disassociated people go back to the organization?
by SEL ina friend disassociated in order to get divorced, hoping not to get disfellowshipped.
some time later, he has a serious non-jw girlfriend whom he'll probably end up marrying.
the thing is, he didn't disassociate because he no longer believed the wt doctrines.
