Demons and the WTS
by brotherdan ini remember growing up and hearing all sorts of stories about demonic activity from people.
some would be experiences that people had going door to door and visiting a "witch" or "warlock".
some would inadvertently go to a fortune tellers door and have a demonic experience.. i was always facinated by all the stories.

Only just caught up with this thread. BrotherDan wants experiences, so here goes.
I got in with my wife, Mrs Rogue, at the age of 18. After a couple of weeks I found out that she was having trouble with spirits as she called them. I was an interested person who's mum is a JW. After a few weeks of study mrs Rogue starts to have problems with the spirits. We decide, with the advice of the guy studying with her, to blitz her room and get rid of all her old stuff. (She used to be into tarot, black magic etc). We make a bonfire, I try to light it. nothing. In the end after using white spirit, I use a GALLON of petrol. After about 5 matches the thing finally goes up, but not 'whoosh!'as you would think. The friends/brothers with me shit a proverbial egg and leave the premises. Next day, when Mrs Rogue comes home to her mum's house the spirit goes apeshit, after she starts to try and redecorate. He gives her a black eye with the roll of wallpaper she's got. She hides under her bed as all the contents of the room go flying around. Her mum, a born again christian calls her pastor and he turns up with 3 other women. They try to get in her room but the door is jammed. Mrs Rogue is still under the bed, and won't come out. Her crazy mum calls me at my parents house and tells me what's going on. I turn up, notice that the cat is going crazy in the living room and is hissing at the corner of the room, exactly where my wife says the spirit is. Then I take her back to my parents, and get a brother to come as chaperone. We have a peaceful night, then in the morning at 6.00 I get woken by what I can only describe as someone next to my ear, shouting a word that makes no sense in English. I wake up bolt upright, ask the others did they hear anything. nothing. Weeks pass and the spirits become less frequent hanging around Mrs Rogue. One time at the KH she tells me she feels sick, as the spirit is there. He's making her see that he's strangling the public speaker. The guy she's studying with takes her into the back room, and while they are praying, mrs Rogue's dress lifts up all on its own. Time passes and the spirits go away. Briefly on a holiday to the holyland 14 years ago she senses the spirits in the church of the holy sepulchre, and has to exit quickly, also the chapel on top of mount carmel. Time passes, we drift out of the WackTower, and I make good friends with a priest. While at his house, she starts to sense, and see, and hear more spirits. We decide to quit seeing him anymore, but the visions carry on. A couple of times she's seen spirits at funerals, and when we've visited when dead people are laid out prior to the funeral. One time this old lady pleads with her to tell her grieving relatives not to cry. Recently she's seen our dead dogs, her dead relatives, and our neighbour's dead husband. Interestingly, she said she knew what he looked like before she even saw a photo of him, as he was sitting in the kids bedroom. In the beginning, the spirits had a peculiar form. She said they were all hairy, with a face with no nose, big eyes, and a pouting mouth just like a duck. Recently it's just dead people. She doesn't welcome the attention, regularly telling them to 'eff- off', but they still appear now and again. Her niece has started to see things at the age of 5. They recently saw one together at the same time. I am an atheist, and I certainly don't believe in god. Mrs Rogue's view is, if god exists, who's to say he's good and benevolent? She really is embarrassed by the whole thing and says it's a curse. I really don't know what I believe. I know my wife's not crazy. She has a stress free life and doesn't work, so no real causes to go wacko. These are all first-hand accounts. So often you hear from a friend of a friend etc. I'm no JW apologist, or new-age nut. I honestly haven't got a clue what it's all about. I do believe that a lot of stuff can be self-induced, depending on what kind of current mental state you have.
Well, there it is. That's her story. Even though I'm an atheist, it doesn't lessen my fascination for this kind of thing. I'd be interested to hear any other accounts.

DF'd and struggling....LONG POST........my story.
by confuzzled777 inhow do i make a long story short?
i am fully aware that if anyone in my area were to read this that they will know who i am.
i was disfellowshipped on january 28th 2010 after an "interview" about an evening of bowling with friends and family back in november 2009. i was among 4 who were disfellowshipped and 6 who were publicly reproved.

Call me cynical, but am I the only one who thinks Confuzzled was DF'd was because her parents are active JWs? If she had no family to influence the decision, I'm convinced she'd have been publicly reproved. I think the WT$ likes to do this knowing that lots of people with family 'in' are more than likely to come grovelling back to the congregation weeping and wailing and full of contrition.
It's sad for you, and my heart goes out to you. There's nothing worse than being falsely accused, I get the stomach ache thing, been there.
In another way it's good, -for your congregation I mean. Everybody else in the cong will just be thinking WTF? Maybe it'll get them thinking just what kind of men are running the show. Hopefully, it'll open the eyes of your parents too.
Thanks for sharing your story, it indirectly also helps the lurkers that come on here sometimes. Incidental unwitnessing

You are holding the upper hand. It's your house, so you can say what you like, and unfortunately for her, you are the head of the house, so she has to respect you. My sis used to get beat up by her hubby (NON JW), and then he did the dirty on her. On both occasions, the elders advised her to work it out with her hubby cos 'jehovah hates a divorce'. You are laughing, cos you were never baptized. She can't cut you off. One thing I would do, which will f**k them all right off, is to be calm and rational when you debunk every bit of crap that plops out of their mouths. On NO ACCOUNT must you raise your voice or get angry. Just smile and say in a kind voice "I'm so sorry for you all. You're in a cult and you don't realise it". (You must come across as sincere when you say this).
You have a battle of wills ahead my friend, but the war has only just begun.
Good luck!

untitled
by cyberjesus inwhile having a conversation at a night club with two guys ( i go salsa dancing at least 3 times per week) i was telling of a story of a time i went with a friend to a strip club but we left because our consiences felt guilty ( my friend was still in bethel).
so i said "since i was a member of this religion".
at that moment one of they guys immediately asked me "which religion?".

Thanks for the mention of those films, CyberJesus. I'd never heard of them before. I honestly haven't looked into the angle of WT$ being a cult. (I simply left because the prophecies were way off) I mean, I could see all the appointed men seemed mostly to be jumped-up little napoleons, but never really made this kind of connection with the mind-control. The Wave was creepy, even if a little cheesy. I've downloaded it and I'm gonna send it to my sisters.
Special points for planting little seeds!

What do you think will be WT doctrine in 10 or 20 years time?
by roguepixel inthe world/science/technology and society (not the society) are changing so rapidly.
what does everybody think will be wt$ doctrine and belief in 10 or 20 years time?
i'm thinking mainly about advances in medicine and cloning, which were always looked upon as being a cut-off point.

I think Soldier77 makes some good points. Personally, I see the new upcoming generation of kids, teenagers and 20somethings as probably the most challenging set of people to encounter in the ministry yet for J-Dubs. I think nowadays people are far more distracted by entertainment and lifestyle, to be chasing after a nutty religion. For one, interested ones can do all their research on the Watchtower right here on the internet. There's a lot of damaging stuff, and mud sticks. I know if I'd been a 16-year old right now, ABSOLUTELY NO WAY would I be interested, much less set foot in a kingdom hall. This generation has got it really cushy. The internet would've saved my life had it been around 20 years ago, that's a fact.
I think the 'generation' crap will have a good 20 years left in it before dissent sets in. I think they will have to change their views on Disassociated and DF'd people, and be much stricter, perhaps even suggesting that DF'd family members should be invited to leave home. I think the fractions blood treatment doctrine will be tweaked even more. I even think that they'll re-think the celebration of Birthdays, making it a 'conscience' decision (just so long as you don't put candles on the cake). Xmas will probably remain taboo as it concerns christian notions.
It would be nice in 2020 if Bill Gates offered the GB a big wodge of cash for WTBTS, then broke it up and sold off all their assets. Maybe then he might go to heaven

I'm thinking mainly about advances in medicine and cloning, which were always looked upon as being a cut-off point. Most people I talked to used to say Jehovah would step in before mankind had perfected human cloning. Of course then there's the internet and the impact that's had on the world, also the evolution of human morality (e.g. people having more acceptable views about human rights). I feel the WT$ will find that they'll experience shrinkage (in the nicest possible way) and will need to change drastically in order to survive and stop the rot.
My personal wish is that all of these advances really Awaken people in general about the usefulness of religion in their lives.

Watchtower Attorney and new contract for deceased?
by Dogpatch ini'm passing on a question and wanted input on it please:.
recently an xjws mother passed away, when it came to settling the estate.
a watchtower attorney produced a form that she had filled out and.

Does anyone know much about UK law? I've found out that my mum intends to donate a quarter of her estate to the WT upon death. I heard from somebody that the WT doesn't fight if you contest the will, as it's bad press, etc.
Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers

How to avoid a whuppin' at Armageddon
by roguepixel inseems that jehovah has got a weakness, like kryptonite.
when the day of reckoning comes, i'm getting an iron suit.
he won't be able to touch me.
-

"chariots of iron" is a metaphor for projectile weapons.
Chariot describes something traveling at a fast rate of speed.
Iron describes some kind of sophisticated missile.
I thought this was really funny, like something the WTBS would come out with. Good one, Cameo-d! Still, the J- man in the sky is unable to defeat fast iron missiles. I'm gettin' me a SAM missile off of some eastern european mafia or something.
