They seem to be spending more time in their articles telling readers to accept what they say rather than providing new pearls of wisdom.

Governing Body ALMOST declares themselves "God's anointed"
by cedars ini'm just going through the latest april 15th watchtower, and in particular the study article entitled "betrayal - an ominous sign of the times".. predictably, the article has a lot to say about the perils of being disloyal to god and his organization.. it gives examples of three wicked individuals:.
coniving delilahtreacherous absalomtraitorous judas iscariotthen notice the summary paragraph (pages 9 and 10):.
what have we learned from these warning examples?

In regards to the generation teaching they are being told that it might not be clear to them but they just have to make some sense out of it rather than thinking there might be yet another change. Sounds more like they are trying to convince themselves that it is right rather than trying to think of some more plausible explanation.

Ask them to define the meaning of apostasy (in writing) and to make it clear whether it is against God or the WTBTS.

Today I was told I've been reported to authorities for elder abuse!
by 3rdgen inthis is a very long story-probably requires at least 2 threads, but i'll try:.
my 93 yr. old widowed destitute mother has dementia.
i am her only child.

Oh dear, this is all so tough on you. Please do seek the help of the authorities.
It sounds to me like she hates the current home she is in because she is on a hunger strike and the home wants to get rid of her because she'll die without any food. If they send you the bill and you can't pay up then they probably have an excuse to kick her out and can turn around and say that you didn't owe them any money in the first place. As long as the problem is off their hands. If she stays in the home and dies from lack of food it would be very difficult for the home regarding responsibilities.

Elder father sent me an email about Feb 2012 WT - my resposne
by TheStumbler ini'm not sure if any of you will remember but i posted on here six months ago about a correspondence i was having with my dad, an elder, about who would die in armageddon.
i was asking some tough questions about children being killed in armageddon and i could tell he uncomfortable with the answers he was giving.. i drafted an email in resposne to his email but in the end i decided not to send it in the interest of maintaining friendly relations.. .
last week, out of the blue, my dad sent an email link to the february 2012 watchtower article about armageddon and said it would answer some of my questions.. here is my response which is a critique of the feb 2012 wt article and some of the broader ethics concerning 'armageddon'.

Thanks for the answers. I also remember that being taught Keyser and that it was important to be a JW in order for our children to come under the same protection. I am starting to think this was more because of scare tactics and to impress on JWs how important it was to be in the organization.
What you are saying Blondie would be more reasonable to put in print, however I don't think they would want to emphasize the idea too greatly. They even given the impression that JWs have some sort of protection at times during calamaties occurring now and in the past.

Is it possible that many who die at Armageddon will be resurrected? I wonder if the WTS have acknowledged that many who died in the flood would be resurrected?

Time will tell but not only have they caused many JWs to 'stumble' and others to see the hypocrisy but they have voluntairly exposed themselves and their abhorance of the UN to the UN itself, making them fully aware of their stance.

There are a few reasons why the GB hold to the idea that the number is literal. I was just thinking why are they so stuck on this idea and came up with this -
If the number of anointed was greater than 144,000 that would then make them A GREAT CROWD and they couldn't have their members thinking that.

You lock an animal in a cage, occassionaly beating it into submission and several things can happen. The animal becomes so submissive that it relies on the person feeding it and never learns how to feed or fend for itself. It lashes out at the trainer. It breaks free.
