  In the pre donation days paying special pioneers full time to sell publications made sense, their investment would be returned to them tenfold but no such provisions were ever made for elders. Instead their idea was to have a number of elders to share the load.

  The org says not to place work as a high priority and God will provide but where are they in this picture? Elders need to support their family and if the org carried out God's work by providing to the elders they might be more successful in retaining them.

  i was having coffee at a starbucks located in a supermarket chain in one of the towns i work in my business .

  while sitting there doing paperwork , what looked like 3 elders on their field service break sat at a table no more than 4 feet from me .

  after eavesdropping it was obvious they were elders as they were talking about the c.o.

  In JW land what happens to that 'child' that comes out of their 'room' and apologizes.

  The elder says 'well I'm not sure whether you really mean that, it's not enough to say that you will never do that bad thing again. In order to prove to me that you are sorry I want you to do twice as much daily chores for the next three months and you will have no privelages whatsoever during that time."

  What is funny too is another article later in the very same magazine that discusses anxiety which doesn't seem to provide much advice at all. About the only advise it provides is to be supportive, learn about it and comfort one another.

  It does mention that there is medical treatment available but they did not endorse any specific medical treatment.

  How stupid can they be when they had just written about the medical technique of dealing with anger management by using deep breathing, excercising and immersing yourself in something you enjoy - all very helpful and important methods in helping to deal with anxiety also. In fact it is the most basic and fundamental way of helping to deal with it and one should expect this to be advised when speaking to a Doctor.

  Another Point Against Disfellowshipping (Even the WT can't deny)

  i have been shifting some ideas around and the threat of disfellowshipping may actually help me in this instance.

  if you've read my other posts, you know why it is i'm on here.

  and you know that i am adamant.. but in the research of disfellowship, i've tried thinking of good, alternate arguments or points of reasoning before pressing the red button.

  You have some very good points there, particularly the articles that incite JWs to loathe apostates. If this is pointed out to them they will probably twist this to say that you are not actually an apostate in the true sense of the word.

  They will also say that they do not hate those that are disfellowshipped but their idea of shunning has a two fold purpose, to keep the congregation clean and as a disciplinary measure in order that the wrongdoer comes to see their error. They have said that their shunning is a form of love.

  I agree with Fatfreek, they will say that they do not hate the wrongdoer, just the sins they are committing.

  It will be up to the elders as to whether they accept the hardline that the GB is advocating or show more compassion and are truer to Jesus' example. It is more likely they will uphold the latter and make excuses for any articles that you present by twisting them with a different meaning.

  once again, this was a real " jewel " of a study article by the wt society full of contradictions , controlling expressions , and manipulative wording in order to take away jehovah's witnesses free will and freedom of mind .. initially the wt society makes it appear that they are " concerned " about witnesses actually keeping the " peace " between themselves.

  notice this quote from pg.

  20, paragraph 7, " true friends keep personal matters confidential.

  Yet it is okay for the elders and the GB to hold an inquisition such as in the case of Ray when dozens were question in regards to him and other brothers. This causing many to break their confidentialty from personal conversations which in themselves did not amount to a serious sin.

  how would you react if someone quoted you a price of over half a million us dollar$ to put up a wall of greenery at the assembly hall in ajalvir, spain?.

  jhk's blog quotes spanish ex-jw's forum member nizam saying that the spanish brothers are aghast with the plan to close down the assembly hall at ajalvir, torrejon, (near madrid), spain.

  the renovation will replace an outside terrace with a wall of greenery.

  No wonder some elders are in disbelief. If the witnessing work is so important why will they use JWs time on all this renovation work? It sounds like they have come up with a way to increase the value of the properties so it will be interesting to see how soon they sell them off.
