  Question from Japan about "probation seat"

  You are expected to be obediant to the directions (orders) from the elders. This is another test and part of the discipline that is supposed to show your repentance.

  My review of the new JW.org website, and why Watchtower videos are landing them in a sticky situation!

  i know some of the fuss about the newly revamped jw.org has died down, but i wanted to write a blog article by way of a "review" all the same.

  i felt it was important to highlight the dishonesty and evasiveness of the information on the new website, particularly in the "faqs" section.

  Sorry I can't see my last post. It was in response to their comments regarding who will be saved.

  They say specifically that many (non JWs) living in centuries past have the opportunity for salvation and then go on to say that people currently living will if they serve God. There is no mention of those living in this century who pass away other than deducting that they too must have been serving God.

  Jehovah's Witnesses and Acts 2:17

  does anyone know how jehovah's witness explain away acts 2:17 is:.

  acts 2:17 - in the last days, god says, i will pour out my spirit on all people.

  your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.. they admit we are living in the 'last days', yet they don't seem to have young men with visions or old men dreaming dreams (at least not inspired ones).. .

  It is a great scripture to be examining biometrics.

  I've done a little bit of research on the WTBTS literature and it many cases they cite it in reference to the time when the holy spirit was poured out at Penticost 33CE and they were the last days to 70CE.

  One of the references in which they relate it to these days, in which they believe they are in the last days is in "Jehovah's Day (jd) Chapter 13 para 4

  'Now consider our time, Joel's prophecy has been undergoing its major fulfillment since early in the 20th centruy. Spirit-anointed Christians - male and femal, old and your-began to "prophecy," that is, to declare "the magnificent things of God." including the good news of the Kingdom, now established in the heavens.

  Another quote from 'Kingdom Come[' Chapter 15 para 14

  'Just as Joel's prophecy had been fulfilled at Pentecost 33CE during the 'last days' of the Jewish system of things, now that prophecy began to have a major fulfillment during the 'last days of Stan's world system. Enlightened and motivated by God's spirit, modern-day anointed 'sons and daughters' of Jehovah did "certainly prophesy," as they got busy in warning the world of mankind of the approach of "the great and illustrious day of Jehovah," and of the urgent need to 'call on the name of Jehovah' in order to be saved - Acts 2:16-21'

  Interesting how they have changed the meaning of prophecy and that only the anointed are doing this (the other sheep are just helping or have declared that 'We will go with you people, for we have heard that God is with you people' - from the Jehovah's Day book), so it seems that they do not 'prophecy.'

  i came across a series of youtube videos presented by an ex jw and thought the story he has to tell and the videos he presents are amazing.. the young man is only 19 years old, he was baptized at the age of 14. he has made over 150 videos.

  many of his initial videos takes the viewer step by step through his judicial committees.

  there is over 4 hours of taped video of the proceedings and he provides his own commentary after each 15 minute taping.. ethan was eventually disfellowhipped for three reasons.

  You summed up the JC well Wasanelder. It sounds like his father is not A JW and may explain why they allowed him so much time, as well as the fact that these elders new him very well.

  Ethan was eventually disfellowhipped for three reasons. Apostasy, occassional smoking and associating with a disfellowshipped JW.

  Ethan is no ordinary person. He states that he wanted to present his own judicial committee hearings to help others in the same situation to gain more courage on dealing with it. This he does in no small measure and the only depressing aspect that the videos will leave one with is the total ignorance found in the elders.

  Can't get work after pioneering

  i was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and can advise me?.

  like many here, i was bought up as a jw, with full-time service (bethel, pioneer) the only career option held out in front of me.

  i wanted to take a government loan and go to university, but was forced not to, labelled 'materialistic'.. i became a pioneer / window cleaner - round here, almost all pioneer brothers window clean, unless they are retired or have a rich daddy.

  Include your pioneering details on your resume. Volunteering is not a negative and some employers would consider persons with christian ideals as an advantage.

  Interesting JW Facts, I know of an elder working at Bethel who sells vitamins to other JWs, I wouldn't be surprised if he is selling the Usana product.

  Sorry that was my mistake. I didn't realize they normally hold a special meeting after the memorial and I also thought the memorial was held in April. It seems the memorial will be held at the end of March in 2013.

  Atlantis has just posted a BOE letter regarding the memorial next year. There is to be a special meeting held just before the memorial, around the 1st April.
