My brother says: Don't worry about 2052, we will be in paradise by then...
by Joliette ini was talking to my brother about a video that i saw about african genocide, and in the video this doctor that i listened to was saying based on his research he predicts that africans in different regions of africa will be scaled back by about 50% by the year 2052 (due to aids, food storages, etc).
my brother gave me a drive home from work and we were talking about this.
he said that we wont have to worry about that cause 2052 is never going to happen.

Moral dilemma: to tell my husband or not to tell him...
by Julia Orwell inthat his jw best friend he hasn't seen in ages is coming for holidays from where he now lives overseas.
this jw friend was instrumental in getting my husband into the cult before we met.
i heard from a jw from my old cong who just emailed me.

You know Julia, men can be really simple people in some aspects. While you may think that he may not be sharing his thoughts with you, it may well be because he actually has no thoughts on the matter. But the more you share with your husband and encourage him to share his thoughts, he is likely to become more open.
A couple of years after I was with my husband, he wanted to move back to his home state of Western Australia, he has a large family here. I was used to having my husband basically all to myself and was a bit worried about him returning to a full on social life when we returned to his home town but to my surprise he only maintained a close relationship with his family and one mate. He was content with our relationship and wasn't interested in living his previous life. Maybe it is the same with your husband, he's now so content with you and being settled into married life that everything else becomes secondary to him.
If you want to bring up the subject again with him, you could put it this way - What should we do if he wants to visit us? It is such a broad general question and it instantly brings you into the equation.

Tech49 on HOURS, TIME, and REPORTS
by Tech49 ini thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.
and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.
i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.

Thanks for the reply DOC and good on you for doing your job professionaly.
So much wasteage as it's probably unlikely that JWs would not be reporting their placements to a degree of 50%, they are very proud of their placements. If the WTBTS printed only what was placed or used by JWs their figures would fall dramatically and they couldn't have that.

Trivia about the history of the beloved Governing Body
by Terry inthe very first legal governing body of (jehovah's witnesses) bible students were seven persons which included pastor c.t.russell, his wife maria, and his controversial ward, rose ball.. five men and two women.
these seven persons were also the directors of the watchtower bible and tract society.
this group set policies and practices for the rest of the religious followers of pastor russell.

t
hat slave is made up of
as mall group of anointed brothers who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food during Christ’s presence. Throughout the last days, the anointed brothers who make up the faithful slave have served together at headquarters. In recent decades, that slave has been closely identified with the Govern ing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Note, however, that the word “slave” in Jesus’ illustration is singular, indicating that this is a composite slave. The decisions of the Governing Body are thus made collectively. Watchtower 7/15/13
Thanks for that bit of history. You always bring up topics that make me think and this is no exception.
Their history makes a mockery of their new idea that the FDS is currently the Governing Body. What about the past? Are they able to identify who composed the FDS at any given time? But they should and if their new teaching on the identity of the FDS is correct, they must.
They admit that they are just uninspired, imperfect men. Therefore they need to re-examine all their self created doctrines and laws and determine whether they were in fact formed by the FDS or not and in order to do this they need to determine who the FDS was at any given time. If they cannot identify who exactly the FDS was at any given time then they do not know if the doctrines and laws that issued through their publications were presented by their authorised slave or not. I bet they couldn't and won't do it and therefore their is no substantiation to any of their past teachings.

As you pointed out, the context needs to be considered in order to come to a proper understanding of the scripture and to whom he is referring to. Time after time the GB fail to do this. It is an example of how they make the bible fit their own doctrines.
Lastly, Paul shows that it is his purpose to witness to the “nations” that Jesus is mediator and ransomer.
The other sheep are declaring that Jesus' is the mediator for only 144,000. Where is the commission that they gather in future chosen ones? They are drawing people in where some will have the opportunity to have Jesus as their mediator and most won't. With their failure to understand the mediatorship they are failing in bringing this message, their witnessing work becomes futile.

Anthony is so disjointed in his talks 1st he's tell the r&f that Jehovah is sensitive to the needs of his people and that Jehvah want people to know he's the father of tender mercies and love and all that good stuff and then with out a pause he's telling the audience(even very young children) that human who jehovah puts to death are going to be burned beyound recognition and it will be traumatic to their mental stability. Talk about holding two thoughts creating cognitive disonnance, ouch that's gotta hurt. He's got serious mental problems.
It reminds me of years ago when you would see an old religious fanatic ranting and raving in public. Their speach was also disjointed and they were obviously mentally deficient. I don't see them these days and that is probably due to advances in medical science with these guys being prescribed appropriate medication.

Is there ever a reconcilliation between the number of books and magazines placed against the numbers recieved by the congregation, say on a yearly basis?

Personaly I don't think you have any choice. Given that they are really great friends then he is going to contact him and you are right, not telling him could leave him with bad feelings about you.
Given that he is likely to learn of his visit anyway, it could be to your great advantage to tell him. It gives you plenty of time to discuss his feelings and how he might handle his lack of inactivity with his friend.
