sometimes the wtbts are just brilliant in coming up with new ways of wasting the jws time.. with this new edition they will have to be getting their head's around new terms and phrases.
many jws will know a lot of verses off by heart, now they will be required to relearn them which will be no simple task.. they have been told to keep their old nwt for research purposes.
now instead of looking up one scripture they will have two bible's to look up.. the writing committee now has so much new material available to them to write copious articles about.
This is what they have presented the JWs with at the Annual General Meeting of the WTBTS held over the weekend.
It have taken five years to do the revision and they have released these books to JWs by the 10s of thousands all at once, like a Tsunami.
At this stage it the revision has only been done in english.

They have been told to keep their Old NWT for research purposes. Now instead of looking up one scripture they will have two bible's to look up.
The writing committee now has so much new material available to them to write copious articles about. They will be able to write on and on aboout nothing of any importance but seemingly is important because it is about bible scriptures. That's nothing new but all the changes in the NWT allows them to go into detail as to why they thought this change and that change was necessary
It may even distract many apostates from noticing other wrongs within the organization as they too focus on the revisions.
october 5th, 2013. .
i woke up early i the morning.
hopped in the car, and drove my way to jersey city assembly hall.
It must have been very hard to sit through that meeting Brother Mike.
I didn't listen to much, I just can't manage it. The first thing that hit me was the singing, it is shocking and there is no harmony there at all.
The second thing I noticed was how they were introducting each other and your post makes this stand out.
They kept introducing each other by name and referring them to their titles, such as being a Governing Body member or a Branch Committee member.
This is just so hypocritical of them and highlights the fact that these meetings were just a grandstand for the Governing body, which has only recently grabbed all authority to themselves under the title of Faithful & Discreet Slave. They were bragging about the fact that the meeting would be heard by about 1 and a half million people, or at least that was there aim. That is no small number.
This is what they have had to say about religious titles in their publications
Watchtower 2000 6/15
"Do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers.”—MATTHEW 23:8.
“WHO deserves more honor, a missionary or a Bethelite?” a Christian woman in an Oriental country innocently asked a missionary from Australia. She wanted to know who should be respected more, a missionary from another country or a local minister serving in the branch office of the Watch Tower Society. That innocent question, reflecting a class-conscious culture, took the missionary by surprise. The question of who is greater, however, stems from a desire to know where people stand in the ranks of power and influence.
This concern is by no means new. Even Jesus’ disciples had an ongoing argument about who was the greatest. (Matthew 20:20-24; Mark 9:33-37; Luke 22:24-27) They too came from a rather class-conscious culture, that of first-century Judaism. With such a society in mind, Jesus counseled his disciples: “Do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers.” (Matthew 23:8) A religious title such as “Rabbi,” which means “Teacher,” “tends to engender pride and a sense of superiority in those who obtain it, and envy and a sense of inferiority in those who do not; and the whole spirit and tendency of it is contrary to the ‘simplicity that is in Christ,’” noted the Bible scholar Albert Barnes. Indeed, Christians refrain from addressing overseers among them as “Elder So-and-so,” using the word “elder” as a flattering title. (Job 32:21, 22) ."
Then we have this message in the Watchtower 94 2/15 mag
" It is precisely because of this close adherence to Bible teachings that the veneration and idolization of human leaders so characteristic of cults todayis not to be found among Jehovah’s Witnesses. They reject the concept of a clergy-laity distinction. The Encyclopedia of Religion aptly states about Jehovah’s Witnesses: “A clergy class and distinctive titles are prohibited.”
They follow Jesus Christ as their Leader and as Head of the Christian congregation. It was Jesus who said: “Do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers. Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One. Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for your Leader is one, the Christ.”—Matthew 23:8-12.
It is clear that Jehovah’s Witnesses are as far from being a cult as Jesus was from being a glutton and a drunkard...."
i am writing this from memory i didn't ake notes so forgive me if it is out of order.. sumary.
it started off with the annoucement of a bible display (mueseum) being built that focuses on jehovah's name in the bible.
(i found it funny that few if any bible predate the 12th century because that's when the word jehovah was created bet that get's left out) the speaker went into the work done searching for various and the miracles donations and loans that happened to bring this about.
"A product rollout" Great stuff.
Thanks for your summary 5go.
i just thought i would have another look at the december 2013 watchtower in light of the agm tommorrow.
slimboyfat had pointed out that even though there is a whole study article on the memorial, there is not one mention of the 144,000 (by number) and it may become new light that the number is no longer literal.. anway i came across this bold outright lie.

"4. No doubt you will be present for the one event
that Jesus said his followers should commemorate
annually."
Nowhere in the bible does it say that Jesus instructed his followers to commemorate the Lord's evening meal once a year.
Why would they make such a claim? This Watchtower is even weirder than normal. It goes into great depth about the importance of the date the memorial is held on.
Anyway, back to this idea of the 144,000 no longer being literal. There is this statement made
One is the hope of reigning with
Christ in heaven, the hope entertained
by a relatively small number of Christ’s
followers, such as the faithful apostles.
(Luke 12:32; 22:19, 20; Rev. 14:1"
Notice that even thought they have quoted Revelation 14:1 which talks about 144,000, they have defined this as simply being a relatively small number.

rockville, md.
(wjla) - a rockville church is at odds with its neighbors.
Surely they can build a hall seperate to the house.
i'm going to be off the air this weekend, which means the planned blog entry will be delayed.
it's our anniversary and the wife apparently expects my full attention.
we have a cabin on whidbey island rented.
It's a tough life - have fun.
i have been told of two things i had not heard of before.. one is a new preaching method, going to public places in a group e.g.
a cafe, and then talking of the topic quite loudly, for example maybe studying a watchtower or a chapter in a publication.
the idea being that people listen in and enquire etc etc.
Are you told to take these go bags everywhere, such as leaving them in your car or are they left at home?
presented under the guise of jehovah's progressive organization and/or speeding things up during the last days.
1. announcements about "simplifying arrangements" worldwide, consolidations, moving operations from one country to another.
a smoke screen for shutting down facilities and laying off workers.
No. 4 - a seed construction project?
If this is true, it sounds like they are planning to provide seeds for the poorer countries, they'll surely have to become involved in a lot of politics if they do this and they'll be competing against multi national businessess that currently sell their seeds to poor countries.
No doubt, given the title of the talks that will speed things up one way or the other.
