Thanks for the additional information Old Goat. A couple of weeks ago I looked further into information about Russell available on the internet, including numerous court cases. Along with that and the treatment of his seperated wife and why they seperated paints a different picture of the man.
It sounds like the third book will be more interesting.

I wonder if they will be discussing the many law cases that Russell was involved in as well as his finances and various business structures such as the United States Investment Co Ltd. Along with his avoidance of paying his seperated wife maintenance, a lot can be learnt about Russell from these things.

The org. never gave a reason why they are changing the assembly arrangement, I wonder if any JWs have any thoughts on this.

As of the 1st September, 2011 they set up a new incorporation, called the Regional Building Committee of Jehovah's Witnesses Rego No.810925255 RR 0001.
The purpose of this fund as stated by the JWs is
"Ongoing programs:
Regional Building Committee of Jehovah's Witnesses (RBCJW) builds and maintains places of worship, training schools, and educational facilities that advance and teach the religious tenants, doctrines and observances of Christian congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. RBCJW works with Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada and individual congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses by providing expertise, training, and resources to assist them in acquiring, building and maintaining their properties."
The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada donated just over $2,000,000 to the Regional Building Comm. This money had originally been sent to the Society by individual congregations.
Not one cent of this money has been donated back to any congregation for building Halls.
It already has nearly $3 million in assets which includes a LONG TERM INVESTMENT of $2 million. It only had $183,000 in expenses in the 2012 year.
i saw a photo on facebook of a jw couple i know, apparently you can now get your photo taken with the stars of the jw animated children's videos, at patterson.
i've tried to share it here but it isn't showing up.. basically, you stand in different cartoon scenes of the door to door activity, holding a bookbag and the hand of one of the children's characters from the viedo.
the houses are pastel colored, the cartoon brothers are wearing brightly colored shirts and ties , no jackets.
This religion becomes funnier and stranger by the day.

They dropped the term 'special assemblies'. I have a feeling that they will be introducing special presentations in the local kingdom hall, these presentations will be either taped or live streamed talks given by GB members.
