We just need to look at how they treat people at Bethel to see that often there is little opportunity for them to reach their full potential. They will proudly tell stories of how certain individuals have been carrying out menial tasks for years on end. Instead of encouraging young brothers to keep their rooms clean they have sisters clean it for them. They are made to work long hours on boring tasks. Their pages and pages of rules on life at Bethel is very restricting.

The Great Crowd Catch 22
by Perry injust had a two hour conversation with my father.
he is insistent that he will be able to enter the kingdom of god as a member of the 'great crowd'.
he did agree that only the annointed are declared righteous.

Good on you for trying to show this to your father, the teaching makes no sense and they are blind to it.

That 'Resurrection' video is cultish and scary but it couldn't actually harm anyone. Could it?
by nicolaou inmy wife and i spent last evening, as so many did, concerned for the king family and their little boy ashya (bbc report).
it's clear that blood is not an issue in their decision to take ashya away from hospital and the vital medical attention that he needs.
the watchtower office of public information also denied "that their decision is in any way motivated by any religious convictions".. hmmm.

Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged to seek the best medical treatment for themselves and their children,"
They now have the opportunity to prove that they really do this.

Local Jehovah’s Witness officials could not immediately be reached Wednesday, and the church’s main legal and public information offices in New York didn’t respond to requests for comment. sts for comment.
Their silence speaks volumes. They could learn a great deal from their fellowmen, the catholics.

Phizzy had this comment on a different thread regarding this case
The Office of Public Information for Jehovah's Witnesses said in a statement: "There is absolutely no indication, as far as we are aware, that their decision is in any way motivated by any religious convictions.
"Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged to seek the best medical treatment for themselves and their children,"
This is the deceitfulness of the organization. From all the records they do not know why the parents took their child out of hospital but they do and should have some indication that their decision was motivated by their religious convictions. JWs are told time and time again to put their religious convictions first in their life and it should affect every aspect of it. If they are not making decisions based on their religious convictions then they are not doing what the religion tells them to do.
Their hope of a resurrection would motivate them in their decisions, their hope for the future is what keeps them motivated. How much this has affected their actions we could not say.
The public comment they made rings as untrue as their next comment - that JWs are encouraged to seek the best medical treatment. This is far from the truth when they not only discourage blood transfusions but they forbid it. They also do not encourage blood fractions or anything related to blood, they simply leave that to the conscience of the parent.
It is shocking how, in front of the eyes of the world, they will deny their religion as having any influence on JWs.

I'm deeply sorry if you have been stumbled by some-one inside the congregation. I myself have been stumbled in the past. If you have studied the Bible over some time, you will know that Jesus gave an illustration about the weeds; Matthew 13:24-30 This illustration is talking about people inside the congregation that call themselves "Jehovah's witnesses" but are really imposters, even if they are baptized. Some elders are also weeds or "rocks hidden below the water"Jude verse 12. If you carefully read these scriptures you will see that these imposters are "planted" in the congregation by Satan the devil.
They are left inside the congregation until the "harvest" when they are ripped-out and tossed in to the fire. Jehovah may leave these weeds inside the congregation for a long time until the "harvest" or Armageddon. Bad elders are likened to rocks hidden below the water, because they "sink" boats [ brothers & sisters] in the congregation where they are drownd by Satan's world. These bad elders may also stay in the congregation until the end of this system of things. Jehovah leaves them in the congregation so you have the opportunity to stand-firm against Satan's tests like Jesus did in the wilderness; Matthew 4:1-12.
If you have been stumbled by either a weed or a rock under the water, then you failed the tests against you. This is nothing to be ashamed of,because "We all stumble MANY times" James 3:2, none of us are perfect. Even the Apostle Paul,an anointed Christian, had to fight constantly against his imperfection
As a practising JW, according to their teachings, you have the parable of the wheat and the weeds all wrong. Firstly they teach that the wheat are only anointed JWs, therefore 99% of JWs are not even considered to be 'wheat'.
You say that Jehovah leaves the bad elders in the congregation until the end of this system of things. This is riveting stuff. It wasn't God that put these elders there in the first place so it is the responsibility of the Governing Body to remove these bad elders. God isn't leaving them there so christians can be tested, the GB are just making excuses because they are failing in their job to ensure there are only men who properly qualify. Instead of cleaning up their mess they tell the sheepies to not even murmur against the elders and accept their wrongdoing without complaint - you will find these commands from the GB in even recent magazines. They don't even suggest you move from one congregation to another, you are just working outside the loving provisions provided by your leaders. In fact, often times, they have suggested to these bad elders that they move from one congregation to another.
You also state that these bad elders are planted by Satan. This is not what you are taught, in the past the GB say they have been appointed by Holy Spirit.
How can we even take you seriously when you yourself are going well outside of the WTBTS's own teachings?

Welcome Ben Richards. It is a big decision to make because of the risk of losing JW friends and family but it is understandable that you want them to know TTATT. It sounds like you've done well with just fading.

They just changed their contribution arrangement. The JWs have now committed themselves to their pledge and these funds go into the Branch who then decides what large projects will be completed. Now it seems they are asking for even more money and ignoring the pledged money which was supposed to be pooled for projects such as this.

Telephone Conversations Today with 2 Elders Re: Shunning - Or Not?
by abbasgreta inmy alcoholic and aged jw mother is now extremely ill and is being cared for in every respect by my non-jw brother.
3 sisters visited him yesterday and were adamant.
that i (disassociated and shunned by her for nearly 3 years) was able to 'visit her any time' and that ' there was nothing to stop me seeing her' as long as i. didn't discuss spiritual things with her.

The amount of rules is crazy and to hear these elders follow them is even crazier.
I would say to the elders that I had every intention of speaking about spiritual matters to her as it was her only chance of learning the real truth.
