A new thread has been started advising of an ex JW podcast interview with the lawyer, Irwin Zalkin. It is excellant and will make everything clearer, the lawyer is very knowledgable, I would be surprised if there was a lawyer who could have gotton a better result. This is a very busy and highly sought after lawyer and he took time out for this interview.

I think there couldn't be a better legal term for the Governing Body member, Garrit Losch in this instance. They identified him as being a managing agent. An agent is usually a third party and given that he is no longer a member of the WTBTS does not mean this wipes out any legal connection. Irwin Zalkin also identified the abuser as being an agent of the WTBTS also.

so leading, so distorted, and full of "bait and switch" techniques.. "prove you have the truth"..by seeing how neutral witnesses were in war times?

Ah yes, Stuckinarut2, that is the whole purpose of the article. If the GB don't keep reminding the sheepie's that they are in the Truth then they will quickly forget that idea.

BTTT / Marked topics

i've noticed a lot of topics being bumped recently with "bttt" (back to the top) comments or "marked" as the reply.. i'd appreciate if people think twice before doing this.

simply forcing topics back to the top even though there is nothing to say on them is not helpful and negates the usefulness of having an active topics view.

if everyone did this with every topic they want to push then things would quickly deteriorate so i don't believe some should be allowed to do it for whatever reason.. by all means post new and relevent comments to a topic but short esp single-word non-comments that are simply used to push certain topics back to the top are likely to be interpreted as spam and removed or blocked if necessary.. .

Another option is to put in a link on a current discussion to a relevant discussion from the past.

You're right BOTR, it is sheer madness to award default judgement. Sheer madness on the part of the WTBTS to put themselves in this position and who are supposed to respect higher authorities. Let's see them twist that scripture around in the coming years, obviously from their standpoint it doesn't apply to God's earthly organization, just individuals.

It is incredulous of this organization to behave in the manner it has. To think of the number of articles they have been printing lately about JWs attitude towards elders and to overlook any and every misdeed and not to seek justice. They continue to push everything under the carpet and hope it goes away. This may happen in a number of cases but not everyone is so gullible.

The WTBTS has come a long way, from litigation in support of human rights to the deliberate efforts of undisclosure obstructing the rights of individuals in excercising their rights.

Barbara, thank you for your report. I was wondering what the conclusion actually means? -

"CONCLUSION - For the foregoing reasons, the Plaintiff asked the Court to award terminating and monetary sanctions."

You've had so much forsight in regards to the WTBTS and child abuse, if only the GB had truelly been wise and taken on your advice years ago, so much damage could have been avoided.
