Think about this. A few years ago, the decision was made to set up something like JW Broadcasting and at the time, who knew how practical an arrangement that was going to turn out to be? And who knows, what uses JWB will be put to in the future? Jehovah knows. Jehovah looks ahead. Sometimes we don't know ourselves why certain decisions are made or why we are making certain decisions but Jehovah knows. Jehovah is our joy.
And here's another thing, when the theme for this convention was being chosen, there was no Coronovirus on the horizon. Yet, can you think of a better theme for a convention than this one? Joy. What an appropriate theme for a convention...

What other religious organization foretells the destruction of a World Empire of False Religion? We're the only ones, because the others are all part of Babylon the Great. They're not going to foretell the future of the destruction in the future. So the destruction is going to be a surprise to everyone but Jehovah's Witnesses. And when it occurs, there will be no doubt in your minds that you're on the winning side, that you're on Jehovah's side.

Some Brothers get all upset over some detail that they don't think that the organization has the right take on. It might be the pronunciation of God's name or the meaning of that name. Or the meaning of some verse in the Scriptures. They get all upset, they get obsessed over one detail and it interferes with their worship. But when BTG goes down, will there be any doubt as to which channel Jehovah God has been using all this time to do his will? You will be soooo glad that you are on the winning side.

Now speaking of broadcasting. Do you think Jehovah has been preparing us for something like this pandemic?

I think it is very scary that Lett, who claims to be part of the FDS states that "Sometimes we don't know ourselves why certain decisions are made or why we are making certain decisions" Since he says that Jehovah does know then he is making the assumption that it is God directing them but how does that even work? They know they are not inspired so how is it that they make decisions but don't know why they made them?

He talks about the delight that they will feel that their interpretation of the destruction of BTG was spot on when it happens and it will prove them right as God's channel. On that basis, the fact that they were proven wrong, after the fact, about 1914, 1925, 1975 and other dates should have already demonstrated to them that they were not God's channel. But it's always about some future event or some invisible event that they need to point to, where there is no current evidence.

But the fact that he points to some current Brothers (and no doubt, ones that have left) as being 'obsessed' about what he considers to be 'minor details' and it interfering with their worship is a nasty put down to those that are more sincere about true Bible teachings. It's as if he is saying, don't worry about what we teach, or even if we have God's name wrong, go not let it prevent you from worshipping our organization.

Flu Vaccine Now REQUIRED For All Students Going To School In Massachusetts

this is a requirement now in massachusetts.

children must get a flu shot by december 31. some allowances are made for religious reasons and health reasons.. personally, i don’t agree with the government making this mandatory.. what is your opinion?

I don't agree with it. A parent should have enough facts to assess the benefits and the side effects to be able to decide for themselves.

The biggest reason I am against it is that it doesn't allow the body to strengthen its own immune system.

I wonder if we will eventually end up with a similar problem that we have with antibiotics where some strains of superbugs cannot be treated. So now they are only given if it is absolutely necessary.

In 2010, the flu vaccine given to children under five had to be stopped due to the adverse effects it had. Other than there being a new strain in that years vaccine to protect against H1N1 no cause was found. If I am reading the data correctly, around 10% of children injected were having convulsions and almost all were reporting fevers.

Our Australian Government has been pushing for specific childhood vaccines to become compulsory. Parents can no longer use reasons based on religion or other conscientious objections.

We no longer need to attend a Doctors rooms to get the flu vaccine. It's possible to get it from the local chemist/pharmacy for a small fee of around $15.

i am wondering what they are planning to achieve from this campaign, particularly their focus on sending the watchtower 2020 no.

2, titled "what is god's kingdom" to politicians, governments (and tribal leaders) around the world.. it would appear that this is their answer to governments who have put them in the spot light for their bad policies, particularly their handling of child abuse.

I am wondering what they are planning to achieve from this campaign, particularly their focus on sending the Watchtower 2020 No. 2, titled "What is God's Kingdom" to politicians, governments (and tribal leaders) around the world.

It would appear that this is their answer to Governments who have put them in the spot light for their bad policies, particularly their handling of child abuse.

This is not about preaching the Good News to Politicians but more of a message about them being overthrown in the near future.

Here's a couple of quotes from the magazine -

Things are no different today. In 2009, a United Nations publication said that bad rulership is increasingly being viewed as “one of the root causes of all evil within our societies.” TIME FOR ACTION! The world needs better rulers and a better form of government. And that is what our Creator has promised! God has set up a Kingdom, or government, that will replace all human rule, and “it alone will stand forever.” (Daniel 2:44) This is the Kingdom for which millions have been praying. (Matthew 6:9, 10)...
˘ End human rulership. God’s Kingdom will take action to put an end to all human rulership.—Revelation 19:15, 17, 18....
Ruling as King in heaven, Jesus will accomplish much more than any human ruler ever could. He will be assisted by 144,000 corulers, who are chosen from among mankind.

There is nothing in this magazine that explains how JWs are respectful of Governments and the extent to which they will be in subjection to them.

The mention of 144,000 co rulers chosen from mankind is interesting because it doesn't mention that they believe these co rulers will be doing so from heaven. Who knows what non JWs will make out of that.

It's clear from the latest letter issued by them in regards to the campaign, is that they aren't the least bit interested if Government officials are interested in receiving their message or not. Instructions are specifically given to work out the number of officials in their local area so that they can ensure that they have enough printed copies on hand to send to them. However, as for sending them out to any other person, they are told -

Publishers will be encouraged to distribute the magazine to those who demonstrate interest

This is the type of arrogance they have in sending out this magazine to politicians that establish enquiries and put the Watchtower on notice but choose to give no apologies or, as in Australia, refuse to join a redress scheme.

It's also ironic that they choose to make a quote given by the United Nations, it portrays a solidarity in supporting their views. They also do the same regarding the WHO.

World Wide Work Resolution Doubled Overnight

during covid-19 crisis our hall decides to double the amount sent to hq from our local account.

the resolution is unanimously supported, no questions asked.

has anyone else had this happen?.

With the witnessing work it is voluntary and each individual can decide how many hours they put in each month. This is the same with giving money. Why is it that they need to have a resolution for how much the congregation will donate in dollars but not in witnessing hours? The witnessing work is supposed to be more important.

Their books and magazines became too expensive to print so they needed some other way to distribute their propaganda and the Internet became their only logical choice.

Transparency in Field Service Hours

i notice that in the recent instructions for new regular pioneers (2020-08-s-236-e) it lists a number of assignments for which a pioneer can be credited (up to 75) hours in a month.. these include:construction oversight, assembly hall oversight, assembly oversight, and convention oversight, as well as serving as temporary volunteers at bethel, commuter bethelites, remote volunteers, bethel consultants, hospital liaison committee members, patient visitation group members, disaster relief committee members, local design/construction department field representatives and maintenance trainers, and so forth.

approved assignments also include assisting with kingdom hall construction when such is done at the request of the branch office or its representatives overseeing the project, assisting with pre and post-assembly or convention work, assisting with work at assembly halls, conducting or participating in congregation meetings held in prison, as well as attendance at a theocratic school or class .

when i was pioneering and doing pre and post-assembly work i was told i could include the time spent working in my monthly report, which i did.

It is a labor of love."

According to this, it would mean that witnessing was not considered a labor of love, which goes along with the idea that it is a works based religion.

But why does the Organization want to know how many hours JWs put into preaching but not know how much time their Elders spend on their various duries? They have no way of knowing what a burden they create for many Elders and their families.

GB teaching - Gays and Lesbians will be resurrected as Gays and Lesbians

the final talk of the saturday afternoon online convention is given by lett, sporting a creepy looking combover, which for some reason, looks creepier than normal.

he talks about how those resurrected will need to come into line with a new moral code otherwise they will be destroyed.

he uses an example of gay people having to turn away from their inclinations even though they may feel that they are perfectly acceptable.. this demonstrates that the gb feel that being gay is a taught behaviour rather than an imperfect unnatural desire, otherwise they would be growing out of that desire as they develop towards perfection, as they teach.

I wonder what this means for anointed JWs? There is no doubt that they have wrong inclinations, some may even have gay inclinations as this has apparently been/is the case with GB members.

This must mean that all of the anointed will be resurrected with the same earthly likes, dislikes and desires that they had.
