It is beyond reasoning that they have identified a select class - the FDS with individuals who have special gifts/talents and have only a small number in the GB and HQ (where they use their gifts in various ways) and the rest - hundreds/thousands are scattered around with only the responsibility of witnessing and maintaining their faith just like the great crowd.

But the never-ending process of "taking in Knowledge" about "God" sells hundreds of millions of books for the Wachtower Corporation.
And providing food doesn't require continual regurgitation. We only have one bible yet they feel the need to print 1,000's of different publications. There is so much food that some of it becomes stale and unpalatable, how discreet is that?

yes, the time must come shortly that the nations will have to know that really a "prophet" of jehovah was among them.
actually now more than a million and a half persons are helping that collective or composite "prophet" in his preaching work and well over that number of others are studying the bible with the "prophet" group and its companions..

About the other sheep - Jesus was referring to the Gentiles who then came into the fold and they weren't immediately identified. So the other sheep/great crowd weren't identified until later either. My question is - did the Gentiles have a different hope to that of the rest of the fold? I am asking this because the other sheep of today do.

If it goes against what they understand then they won't believe you, so I would suggest that you tell them they can confirm it with their elders. Remember though that they won't be able to discuss it with you if you are disfellowshiped/disassociated as it forbids 'spiritual' discussions.

A couple of posters have mentioned the effectiveness of the house to house work in both terms of time and money, surely it would be a priority of the Governing Body to look at many different methods of preaching to enable better results. In their earlier days that did use various methods but for many many years they have limited their efforts to house to house work.
To their credit they have printed a lot of literature in different languages but they have also relied on the work done by missionaries of other religions when they move into new territories. It is so difficult going from house to house when you come across families that are more concerned about where their next meal is coming from or how to deal with their medical/mental problems. But the witnessing work takes precedence and no real efforts are made to ensure constructive assistance is given to those in need in order that they may also have the opportunity to hear about God's word. There is some 'lip service' given to this by the org. but with little focus given to it.

It doesn't make the Faithfull & Discreet Slave look like a kind master, especially as they use it as a measuring stick for a persons devotion to God.
Very rarely is provision made to a JW to enable him to serve God in some other way, they are very strict in imposing the House to House work on all their followers. This is not an easy task for many people and even beyond their capabilities. I remember going out in FS with many others and coming away from a house and thinking - well what was the point in that? How could that possibily help to preach the word of God? Of course the answer was that it didn't really matter, they would be revisited by another JW who may reach the persons heart and what it did achieve was to show how faithful the JW was in extending themselves in the witnessing work even though they found it difficult. Even the bible says that the apostles had different gifts, some in preaching, some in teaching etc.
I know of many people that after much bible study just couldn't become a JW because they felt the witnessing work was beyond them but they understood that unless they were prepared to do this they could not become a JW. I don't recall anywhere in the bible that says that you cannot serve God if you don't go from house to house.

The great crowd of other sheep have imitated their anointed brothers. They are aware that their knowledge of God’s purposes brings great responsibility. (Ezekiel 3:17-21) Hence, with the help of Jehovah’s Word and holy spirit, they too keep their oil supply abundant through study and association. And they let their light shine, sharing in the work of preaching and teaching and thus ‘doing business’ along with their anointed brothers. However, anointed Christians are keenly aware that the talents were placed in their hands. They must render an account for the way the Lord’s belongings on earth are administered. Even though they are few in number, they cannot abdicate their responsibility to the great crowd. With this in mind, the faithful and discreet slave continues to take the lead in caring for the King’s business, grateful for the support of devoted members of the great crowd. These recognize the responsibility of their anointed brothers and feel privileged to work under their oversight.
So the annointed are responsible for this work and the other sheep are just imitating them. But it seems that the org is really 'whipping' their slaves into doing as they direct by insisting they serve in the field work, recording their hours, doing it regularly, putting all other things aside and making them feel responsible or face the consequences.
It is no wonder they changed the baptisimal vow by stating they agree to obey the org.

Whoever wrote this article didn't realize that some of the others in the org were only summizing that 1975 was the end of 6000 years from adams creation.
