  Possible Reasons For The Faithful And Discreet Slave Change

  i've been thinking a lot about the new faithful and discreet slave understanding.. first of all, i regard the faithful and discreet slave doctrine to be the core doctrine of jehovah's witnesses.

  without a single charismatic leader like other cults, the watchtower society needed to have something to keep the rank and file in line.

  the fds doctrine was mysterious and served to give the organisation a leadership structure that appeared to be directly connected to god.

  By taking Russell out of the picture (new light claiming he was not the F&DS) they are fixing up another problem that previously existed. Ex JWs have argued that Russell would meet with a small group of people to discuss bible issues and the religion was formed from there, so why can't Christians do the same as Russell today?

  The "Domestics" now include the Great Crowd

  just got off the phone with an old friend who attends the annual meeting every year.. in addition to the fds changes, the domestics now include both the remnant and the great crowd.. seems like an easy way of minimizing the importance of those who partake of the emblems today.. rub a dub.

  The Society debunked the rumored new light on the F&DS in 1973

  this is the summary of the rumored new light from the 2012 annual meeting, as posted by cedars.. the faithful and discreet slave was not appointed at pentecost 33ce, meaning that there has not been a continuous line of members of the slave class on the earth down through the ages.

  the slave class was only appointed for the first time by christ in 1919.the faithful and discreet slave is a small group of anointed brothers during jesus presence serving at watchtower headquarters who are directly involved in the preparing and dispensing of spiritual food.

  the individual members of the governing body are not the faithful and discreet slave.

  Someone also pointed out that the reward given to the F&DS will be all Christ's belongings. This means that the F&DS must continue to be faithful & discreet continuously from 1919 until his return but all the anointed are supposed to recieve the reward of being Kings & Priests. Therefore, their gift is now dependent on a group of 8 men.

  New Light brings new questions

  according to cedars blog:.

  "the events described in matthew 24:46,47 now refer to jesus coming during the great tribulation and giving the governing body their reward in heaven along with the rest of the anointed.".

  if this is true then how can they separate v.45 from v.46&47.

  Verse 45 states that the Master will appoint the F&DS over his household, it does not give a date.

  The GB taught that there had always been F&DS since 33AD. It appears that they are now saying that this was not the case and there was only one F&DS appointed in 1919.

  Verse 46 & 47 states that on the Masters return he will appoint the F&DS over all his belongings.

  Apparently the GB are now saying that they recognize this return will not occur until the GT (a time in the future although I believe they did teach at one time that the GT began in 1914). This means that they do not believe the F&DS has currently been appointed over all Jesus' belongings but will when they recieve their rewards in heaven.

  today's watchtower made it clear that jehovah uses the governing body, no mention of the faithful & discreet slave.. i think they need new light on this in the next year or two..

  The Governing Body are now very, very rich as the belongings include material possessions (such as kingdom halls).

  Funny really, the (F&DS)GB may think they are spiritually feeding the R&F but now the R&F can say they are physically feeding and providing for the (F&DS)GB but that wasn't in the parable.

  Wow Ray that took so much courage to pray in front of them, I could hear the emotion in your voice from your blood pressure going up at the start for daring to do it and then the sadness and sincerity towards the end. That would have had to affect those elders but hopefully that prayer will be answered.

  You have come away from the very darkness these guys are in and so you know and understand them, you really did a wonderful job and you probably couldn't have done anymore. Having listened to all the tapes now, I respect the love you have for them.

  don't you hate these misleading headers.

  i usually wait a day to see if there are a significant number of posters to the page.. but just look at the number of visitors that click on these kinds of subjects.. it builds up really fast.. i don't mind the time factor (1 milisecond) clicking on a bogus "new-secret-this will bring the org crashing down" type of post, but i have to admit it is very disappointing.. .

  You left it at a cliff hanger. One elder so far has said he has never heard of the book - Crisis of Conscience. Amazing how these elders shield themselves from knowing anything other than what the WTBTS tells them. A ridiculous situation considering and as you pointed out that non-anointed write the Watchtower. Given that no writers are named we really don't know who wrote the articles. But these men are supposed to be shepperding the flock, how are they qualified to do that when they do not know all the facts (and deliberately avoid knowing them) regading their religion?

  Cosmo was very upset when you pointed out his error and was quick to tell YOU that YOU don't know what is in his mind or heart but God does know. I am anxious to see how they justify their judgement of you. How humbled he must have been when you said that it wasn't about him.

  Cosmo in all his righteousness and halo glowing states "I'm perfectly happy". Really, just how does he come to that feeling when he is being governed by an imperfect body? He is not simply happy but perfectly happy. Is this honesty or delusionary?

  Are they ever truthful and open at any stage as to where the initial accusations came from? I can't believe that the elder who is related to Walter said he would tell you honestly what Walter told him and basically all he said was that he was just concerned about you.

  The most moving part of this hearing was when you talked about everyone needing someone to talk to. It is just so true and here you were being 'hung, drawn and quartered' because of it. Where is the love and understanding in this organization?

  Your relationship with God will only develop more strongly but I am sad to hear about the damage that has occurred within your family relationship. You lovingly asked us to pray for the elders but I hope others (as I will) will pray for the extra strength that you need also. I don't doubt that these elders will use the same WTBTS standards to handle your wife although you may never know how or what transpired, besides I doubt you would approve of their behaviour in this regard.
