Ah, the perks of living in the Western World. I was just reading from a JW missionary in Guinea how new bible studies who must show they are sincere and attend meetings still have to wait for 3 months before recieving a bible.

The suggestion here is that the organization is deliberately stopping the emblems from being provided to South African congregations. This is because he says that the increase in partakers is coming mostly from this area.
The GB could have said to place the emblems on a table, maybe at the front of the hall, but they chose not to. If no one was partaking then there would be no reason not to provide these emblems. It also means that the GB aren't even bothered to get an accurate number of partakers.

So you need to qualify even to have a bible study by attending meetings and being very serious and they can't even get a bible unless they attend the meetings and wait four months.

by 4thgen inwho is making the travel arrangements for the international conventions?
i heard somewhere they did not use outside sources anymore to coordinate the airfares, etc..

That is what I have read also darkspilver. They arrange their own transport there and stay in the designated hotels. This may have been different in past years.

When they first introduced these Governing Body Helpers in 1992 they stated this

Apparently they have no special status but that doesn't stop the GB acknowledging their position by calling them GB helpers, just like the GB identifies themselves as such. This is just another tier in their class system.

Thanks for posting the Blog Blondie. Often times the JWs just block their blog's. i doubt this lady will, she is enjoying the attention and is very social about it with all the replies. This reminded me of the other reason the GB would not want JWs blogging. This lady could reach celebrity status within the organization very easily. It is even possible that she could become more popular than the GB members themselves and she has direct contact with many other JWs. The GB are always wary of an individual becoming too popular with the potential of drawing away followers to themselves, it has happened before.

I hope this means that seperate toilets will be provided for them, unfortunately this is in India and just providing a decent toilet is a challenge.
