a few things about this video:.

it's very nice that they managed to host a convention for the russian brothers and sisters, and that they all got fed.

He said that the Watchtower legal department told them they would have to leave straight away if the outcome was negative.

He said that they did not have return tickets. If true, it is highly likely that they were breaking the law. Many countries will not approve a temp visa if there is no return ticket booked. Looking at Russia's requirements, this is the case and the visa must be obtained before entry into Russia and details of the return travel need to be included on the application form.

Sounds like porky pies again.

He says that in January he was feeling tired so he organised with a friend to attend an assembly in Finland in June. This long term feeling of tiredness would suggest he is feeling worn out. Maybe the 2018 theme text would do him more good. But as an unpaid Bethelite he must feel so honoured that he is one of a few that gets such expensive opportunities, all on a whim.

Notice how, in the photo of the group of 18, he is pictured in the centre? Who needs birthdays.

i have a 'financial advisor' email tell of massive changes coming to us (and thereby world currencies) on the above date.. does 13-dec 2017 mean anything to anyone.?.

he is talking about the removal of cash etc now if this is half way correct where does it leave the money machine of the wt?.

I haven't heard anything Zeb although if you look through advice from financial advisers you will see some of the talking about money markets collapsing and suggesting one way or another to invest. Usually though, there's money in it for them through various methods.

These reports are more general, they don't put specific dates on when things will occur so your email is even more unusual.

JW Rumor: End of the Traveling Overseer

a friend of mine has contacts to a family with several circuit overseers and special pioneers.

they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.

they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?

Explanation please on the change of the term "worldly"

i've picked up from several replies to posts here that the org has stopped using the term "worldly" as it applies to people.

this must have happened after i left.

would someone be so kind as to explain the "rationale" behind this shift?

Delineation of Biblical Application for Anointed vs R&F

i think it would be great for the gb to clearly define the scriptures that are intended towards the 'anointed' who are already counted, depending on who you believe, and the remainder of scriptures intended for the rest of the followers.

that way there is no confusion during biblical discussions about how little of the bible actually has to do for the great crowd.

and so new studies can clearly see, defined, how little of the bible god cared to preserve for the great crowd.. further it would be useful to know from the gb what scriptures are believed to be literal and which are solely spiritual.. just an idea.

The problem is that with JW doctrine the one scripture can often times have double, triple or even quadruple meanings. They can also have literal, prophetical or spiritual meanings at the same thing time. Then there are types and anti types that can be read into them. And don't forget, new light can give them a totally different meaning.

Shunning Unbiblical

the word shunning is an old english word which has not history pre 18th century.

the practice of avoiding, hiding,ignore or reject was used in the bible against another according to the law.

the law was still in force up until the consumation of the age when jerusalem, the temple, the old covenants were all destroyed forever and when the messiah came back for his elect with the resurrected at the same time.

only just noticed on the jw borg home page that matt 24:14 is quoted with a full stop instead of a comma after the word earth then the closing quotation marks.. isn't that incorrect?.

There was specific discussion regarding this in their October 14 daily text. In part it stated

"This will not be the time to preach the “good news of the Kingdom.” That time will have passed. The time for “the end” will have come! (Matt. 24:14) No doubt God’s people will proclaim a hard-hitting judgment message. This may well involve a declaration announcing that Satan’s wicked world is about to come to its complete end. w15 7/15 2:3, 8, 9"

The text was titled 'Great Tribulation' and they say that the good news won't be preached during the GT. However, this is claiming that the start of the GT is 'the end', not Armageddon. Their support for this is very flakey, basing it on what occurred in the 1st Century.
