New Covenant in this week's coverage

unexplained features: the covenant was with all of "gods people" not just the priests or kings.

the new covenant wt style be made only with the 144 000 king priests and not all members of the "israel of god" ?.

if the new covenant is for the "forgiveness of sin" why is only .01 % of wt members covered by it?

They liken the anointed as being the same as earthly Israel who were going to be a nation of Kings and Priests, only they are now Spiritual Israelites, God's chosen nation.

They deny the other sheep of so much. They are not sons of God, they are not Spiritual Brothers and Sisters, God is not their Father other than in a superficial way, they do not have the law written in their hearts, they are not part of the New Covenant and they do not have Jesus as their mediator. And then they turn around and claim there is nothing special about an anointed person.

It is a fact that there are more female JWs than males. This results in the problem with the problem that there will be single, unmarried females with no prospect of finding a partner. Naturally the prettier females will be cherry picked.

There is occassionly talks and literature trying to address this problem of singleness.

Herds talk is aimed at putting it in the minds of single sisters that even if they are not pretty there is still a chance that they will be selected as a potential marriage mate. They must work hard on their inner beauty.

Its another form of control in the guise of giving hope to unmarriageable mates.

To some extent, he is also telling males to consider marrying Sisters who show dedicated JW qualities. The thing is, most males can, for the most part, have both and if you are a Bethelite, you get to pick young females as well.

It hasn't swayed GB Mark Sanderson in any way.

hey guys, i've been pimo going on full inactive for a very long time, 5+ years.

pretty happy with the current situation.

over the years, i've gotten lots of grief from the local elders and cos for my inactivity, attending wordly public events and social media posts.

Dating an unbaptised person is cause for them to call a Judicial Committee but they won't df, they will go to the point of marking you. Being marked means that all JWs who have knowledge of it will soft shun you. It means that they cannot socialise with you.

If you are not marked then technically your parents can still attend your wedding but it will be a conscience matter unless the Elders get wind of it. The Elders will tell them not to attend.

The only way I know how is to hide the relationship until you are married, or the day you are getting married.

They will mark you at the very least if they know about it before you are married. Once married they can't do anything about it but they will still want to meet with you and when they do, do not meet with them.

The note taking letter helps to expose JW leaders.

It instructs Elders not to take notes so that the heart condition may be shown through wild talk from the sinner and not to be offended by any wild talk.

It's gross to think that they want the pedophile to 'talk wildly' about the things they did but more sickening that they instruct Elders not to be offended. Anyone, other than the pedophile or sick individuals, would be seriously offended to hear these crimes.

I would love a lawyer to show that letter in court.

Social Security/ Center link/ dept of human service or whatever name they are on this week

this large australian govt dept is the one that pays the pensions to the aged, the broken, the invalids, the unemployed.

they are running a campaign to claim back 'overpayment' from the least able to resist,and in recently revealed cases even the deceased.. no media org or politician will take up the challenge of naming the authors of this insidious action.

if the dept with all its resources overpays and that is a big if then that is their problem to deal with not screw the hapless, the downtrodden and the aged all in all the defenceless.. pensioners are now living in fear they will be sent the dreaded letter to say 'pay up'.

jws abhor child abuse and view it as a crime.its recognized that the authorities are responsible for addressing such crimes.jws do not shield any perpetrator of child abuse from the authorities as has been alleged.

Cases of alleged abuse are reported to secular authorities if required by local laws or as instructed by the local branch office.

Thanks Alex, I missed that comment first time around.

Its been come knowledge to most of us that they claim that they will call the Police if they are required to do so by law. What we aren't aware of is if it's not required by law then the branch office may still instruct (whomever???) to call Police.

They do not explain under what circumstances they would direct someone to call the police.

They also don't explain that this happens rarely, if ever. Why even mention it?

It's just more of Watchtower's slippery talk. They make it sound like the Branch directs the Elders to call the Police and that is why they need to call the Branch. It explains why a lot of JWs believe that the Elders do make sure the Police are told.

Thanks Corney. I've just been looking at this myself. Kim and Mikey did a YouTube on it.

Nowhere does the Watchtower say that the screenshots of the HuB database is accurate or just a mock presentation, so there is no representation to say these are real figures.

I am puzzled about a screen shot around the 6.00 minute mark that includes publisher figures for certain countries that, for the most part, don't reconcile to the 2018 figures in the Yearbook. The presenter is discussing how the information on HuB allows them to easily see print quantities.

The figure for USA is 8,196 congregations, 861,575 publishers 116,629 pioneers

The figure for Canada is 962 congregations, 84,831 publishers, 7,945 pioneers

I would have thought that if this was the number of a publication required then it is too high and if it is the actual number of publishers then it is very low compared to the Yearbook figures.

Like any good, modern business, they've registered the HuB logo and you'll catch a glimpse of a coffee mug with the logo on it.

What a terrible attack that was on a young JW by a fellow JW.

The Elders couldn't hide this from the Police as the whole congregation would have known about it at the time.
