Glandular problems cause abnormally tall people. A tumor or defect in the pituitary gland causes it to secret more human growth hormone than is needed, it's called acromegaly.

A Concerned Elder Speaks
by Franklin Massey ina lot of talk has centered around information dispensed at the recent km schools.
many brothers feel there is a "tightening up" taking place.
i had a recent experience that you may find interesting.. after the meeting i was working with our cobe on some congregation tasks when out of nowhere he said, "have you looked up any extra information about higher education since the km school?

the watchtower is not run by smart men. they are in desperate need of elders, and they are so unreasonable that they are even pushing away faithful people who actually like being JW's who follow all the rules.
Just out of curiosity, what is the WTBS going to do if half their elders quit or get forced out over this?
My thoughts too. They haven't thought this one through either. Amazing how many lives they control, and they prove over and over they don't have any common sense or forethought. I hope this goes very badly for them.

In Brazil, no religion is above the law, by Fátima Oliveira
by dgp ini found this link on freeminds, read it, liked it, and now i'm sharing it here with jwn.
the article is about sebastiao ramos and his campaign in brazil.
it was published in a brazilian newspaper, in portuguese, of course.

Thanks, dgp! Interesting he filed against the elders, not the WTBTS or branch. I know legally elders are on their own, but it just occured to me: maybe if things got more litigious (sp?) elders would be afraid to df or risk getting sued. Hmm..

New Information On Blood?

Baltar,
It was about vaccinations. Same concept though.
"..much looseness of our day along sexual lines may be traceable to the easy and continual violation of the divine commands to keep human and animal blood apart from each other. With cells of foreign blood racing through his veins a man is not normal, not himself, but lacks the poise and balance which makes for self control." (Golden Age, Feb. 4, 1931, p. 293)

Are Tie Neck Blouses stylish, or is there too much going on?
by miseryloveselders inthere's a woman in a different department next to my department.
she's a very attractive woman, but at times she wears things that leave me perplexed.
for instance, she had this blouse on with baggy swashbuckler sleaves.

In that pic, the bow's larger than her face so it's overwhelming. If you keep the bow small and pair it with a pencil skirt, sheer tights, and some heels; you can get a sexy secretary look. But the skirt has to fit pretty tight and the hem hit at the right spot. It's all about balance. The outfit in that pic just looks sloppy.

Why do the JWs have such an aversion to philosophy?
by Darth Eowyn ini mean, they seem to avoid it like the plague.
i know people will say that they only need the bible to guide them in life...etc...but i contend that you cannot simply read the bible by yourself; at least without knowing where the philosophical principles contained within the bible come from.
is this aversion of confusing philosophy with faith way over the head of most jws?

It's such a weak teaching, based on one parable and easily destroyed with other scriptures. Where's the scripture that says God would have an organization? Where's the scripture that says we would have to be part of an organization to survive Armageddon? I know other factors come into play, but it still surprises me that most JW's don't realize that.
