by PublishingCult inhow would you respond to the assertion that 7.2 million members of the jehovah's witness religion are not under any sort of mind control?.
the argument being that every one is responsible for their own actions and cannot blame the indoctrinator for what he says and does.
how could they possibly be under mind control?.

I've been outed...
by brotherdan inso this weekend my wife had a major grand mal seizure for the first time in her life.
she was rushed to the er.
a few hours later while i was at her side she had another major one.. it was the scariest moment in my life.

Check out the official Watchtower site for your answer, Pallbearer. You might be surprised by what has changed (including the permissable use of bovine hemoglobin.) The rules changed in 2000, though many witnesses remain confused by what they are no longer prevented from doing, and many still refuse to accept even blood fractions since the Society has hedged on its blood policy changes by saying they are now a conscience matter betten the individual and God - in other words, "we can take you to water, but we can't force you to drink it" which, of course, is absolute garbage, since loyal witnesses, to continue the analogy, are forced to drink all the other water they're taken to.

I'm not your buddy but here's the truth, Dan. They're hanging a trip on you and it is ludicrous to say that you in any way caused your wife's grand mal seizures. It doesn't work that way. What you might want to do right now is some research. Check out the Mayo Clinic website, for example, and I am certain you will find no reference implicating stress as a trigger. It doesn't alleviate the concern you have for your wife, but you and your alleged apostacy are not the problem. Anyone who tells you otherwise is on Mars.
Dan, with each passing hour your mind will become clearer. It feels like it, but it's not the end of your world. Focus on what is really happening, not what you perceive to be happening.

I am not as patient (I stopped myself from using the word pessimistic) as you are, but I bow to your superior knowledge (although I am starting to catch up, thanks in part to you.) Dismantling the Watchtower is just a problem to be solved, and sometimes the smallest thing snowballs into the biggest thing. Pull out a brick or two from the right place, to continue your analogy, the whole facade might come tumbling down.
