they would like to chat with me, and obviously want to encourage me to come back.. to make a long story short: the last 4 or five years i was a jw in their kh, i was more or less completly ignored.
had in that time no phone calls, visits or any interest how i felt etc.

i was thinking to ask them honest heartedly why they want to see me. now, if i mention all my personel expiriences and what you just said about giving note to the c.o., then they should answer my questions honestly. otherwise they would be lying, and finaly having a major problem, not with the c.o., but with god himself.

i recently had a phone call from an elder of my former cong. they would like to chat with me, and obviously want to encourage me to come back.
to make a long story short: the last 4 or five years i was a jw in their kh, i was more or less completly ignored. had in that time no phone calls, visits or any interest how i felt etc. jw´s avoided me in town, pretended they did´nt see me, or once i had to break off the five minute speach on stage due to lack of breath. the funny thing was, that the school-admin (or how do you say it) did´nt even mention the insident nor after the meeting. it was like nothing happened. i also remember my bookstudy elder, who almost on a weekly basis pronounced how to develope personal interest at the doors and return visits, but never asked me one question about myself, although it was known that i had huge problems at the time.
i also sent a while in hospital. and geuss what: it was known (not from stage though), but not a soul inquired when i left about my current health.
well, there are obviously a lot more stories similar to them. so i have accepted the invitation for a talk, because the p.o. is a very nice guy, but i don´t know if i should mention the things in the past.
but i think i should, because the last years i spent as a jw in their cong screwed me completely up.
what would be the best thing to do and say? thank you in advance. varian

What is happening to JWN ?...So many topics not relating to Jehovah's Witnesses!
by koolaid-man innote the home page..wow how it has changed.. jehovah's witness discussion forumthe place to discuss anything relating to jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower bible and tract society... or just make new friends!.
many of the posts have nothing to do with with jehovah's witnesses and new ones coming on this board would be turned off by the content of many of these off color posts.
foul inappropriate language which is not proper or suitable for exiting witnesses to visibly inspect.

Why I Like the "Proclaimers" Book
by t33ap80c inwhile it is true that the "proclaimers" book is not always as open and honest about the society's history as it claims to be, it is open and honest enough to bring into question the society claim to being god's organization.
it's a matter of (1) knowing what to look for, (2) where to find it and then, (3) to be able get the sense of what it means.. take for example the extremely important matter of the second coming of christ.... on the top of page 47 the book truthfully explains how president charles russell came to believe that jesus returned invisibly in 1874 to begin his second coming ("invisible presence").
and then a careful reading of the footnote on page 133 shows that the date of jesus' return was not changed to 1914 until 1943.. it is likely that even if some witnesses notice that fact, they do not get the sense of what it means.

i think i stated in a wt-magazine, round about 1989 i guess, that gods day of wrath will occur within the 20th century.
they deleted that statement on the cd-rom version. so they forged their own history. am i correct?

do single jw live ascetic?
by varian init s often not imaginable for me, to think that single jws live a life of abstinence.
i mean at the end of the day we are all humans with desires and wishes.
most singles are not trained to be like monks from tibet or stuff.. so what s the secret behind it?

to prodigalson,
i couldn´t really tell at that time wheter other brothers were leading doubles lives. i wasn´t a born in, or had family and relatives in the org. so it was not so easy to look behind the walls.
later on, i heard about occational alcohol abuse, and that one brother was gay, but that´s about it.
how high do you reckon the procentage of an average cong leading a double life? what do you consider a double life?

i used to get the impression, when anything becomes kinds of fun, or there´s a nice feeling to it, then it has to do something with the devil!
from all the cong members, i was probably the one with the most jc´s. but at the same time i wondered how the others manage to stay loyal. what advantage did they have? or am i just a week person? are they gifted in a very special way? are they übermenschen or herrenmenschen?????
it really used to bug me.
