so i left around 4 years ago, my family have pretty much left me alone after the first year of harassment, but in the last 6 months i've been hearing about 'the end' a lot again.
so i'm basically wondering if anything has happened?
if anything specific has gone on in the last 6 months (or few years since i've left) to make my family get all zealous about me going back to the 'truth' again?
I think they are even more defensive than ever. The setbacks in growth, the increasing pedo lawsuits (it is a snowball effect once it gets going $$$), the doctrinal juggling to avoid lawsuits, blood, 1914, the internet, and the obsession with the resulting apostate "threat" are all continuing to peak.
They had a good run, but it's time to pay the piper. The only glue left is the threat of DF'ing and breaking up family units. It has come down to extortion and exploitation of the grim hangers on.
not saying that's my personal opinion, but this week's congregation bible study asks the viewpoint question, "would apostate literature or internet sites intrigue you or repulse you?

I knew people who seemed to thrive in the poor pioneer lifestyle. Many would mooch off the congregation in subtle but real ways. Transportation, meals, clothes. They enjoyed a special status in a small congregation.

The History channel production is being done by professional entertainment producers.
I think a lot of viewers are being struck, maybe for the first time, by the fairy tail stories. Just enjoy, don't think.
