gee, you kicked over my shoebox and all my old memories spilled out.
it is hard to believe it has been just over 50 years since chubby checker introduced the twist.
it is also hard to imagine by today's standards in dance that his simple song laid the seeds for the freedom of expression that would define the 60s.. the ghetto dance found its way to the famous dive the peppermint lounge in nyc which was run by the mob.
soon the celebrities and socialites showed up at the peppermint lounge, the mad men generation, and the twist was on its way to being the no.1 hit of the past 50 years.

during my er clinical we had an elderly gentleman go into ventricular tachycardia and then completely crash.. a couple of other students and i did chest compressions and bagged him while the doc and the rns did their work.. after about 20 or 25 minutes the guy stabilized.. f***ing incredible experience!.
Jeeze, what an experience. Who let him out of the bag?
i ask this question because, having been on this forum for a year now, it's clear to me that there are many shades to so-called "apostasy", and this is particularly evident in the realm of anti-watchtower activism.. when i use the word "activism", likely picketing kingdom halls and conventions springs to mind.
however, activism can be far more subtle than that.
just having a website or a book that sheds light on the flaws of watchtower dogma is really a form of activism - arguably the most effective form at that.
Juan, How the hell do you know that Mrs Jones has PMS ?

Southern California, the "Valley" - In the early sixties there was a dance party somewhere almost every weekend. Van Nuys, or Reseda or Pacoima, Burbank, or you name it.
The Twist was the rage and the WT had not addressed (in black and white) "heavy petting". Drive-in movies (Rock Around the Clock") were everywhere. Bob's Big Boy roller skate car hop service hamburger joints were jammed. I remember the one in Van Nuys when every body was cruising and my best pal (later my best man) had a black '61 Dodge Dart convertable with a state of the art, spring mounted record player on the trans. hump. It was so cool on hot summer nights. You put on a stack of 45's and it never skipped. Top down, music up, two 17 year old JW tom cats on their way to twist the night away at our brother Layfayette Kyles place with a bunch of blooming little puddin' sisters. (I got in touch with Layfayette last year. Hasn't been a JW for 40 years but he remembered the parties!)
This was before elders, but the 'servants' were caught sneaking around a couple parties looking in windows. One time I ran into a congregation servant in a suit and tie coming out of some bushes!
i'd like to offer a public apology to nathan natas for making a wrong decision when i deleted him.. i allowed a combination of previous issues we'd had and input from other forum members to bias my decision which lead me to what i now, in hindsight, believe to have been a mistake.. whether you want to come back and post here or not i wanted to at least say sorry and will reactivate your account..
Let's have a spiritual good time!

Looking at your old posts I did not see any confertation and never even knew their was a problem between you two.
There was a confartation but it was kind of low-key, silent but deadly.
perhaps i've just been logging on at the right time but i've seen no insane eschatology or prophecy from our resident messiah/prophets and of course, rick isn't spamming the board and everything just seems .
.
well, nice.. i like it.. .

Nathan, you old trub maker!
So, you seem conflicted. Are you Batman or Spiderman?
1 - reconsider your existence - there might be a reason why the most effective resources to date have been solo efforts.
2 - recognize that even well-intentioned organizations will firstly seek self-preservation.
3 - be aware that egos and emotional stupidity have torn apart much grander edifices than aawa.
"The WT buries itself. Why have an organization to demonstrate that?"
you can carve that in stone, Randy!
Just get out of their way -they are doing a great job!
