I've been to many movies at the Fox Arlington theatre in Santa Barbara, Ca. In the 30's and 40's they test previewed a lot of Hollywood films here.
The theatre shown above looks cheesy, perfect place for the big meeting.

1st Time in 3 Years JW's call at our Door - Two 30 yr. long Time JW's
by flipper ini thought i was back on the jw radar after my jw daughter had a local elder call on me back in 2011 - but apparently not.
he obviously didn't let his elders know i lived here, no record was kept for posterity and just called my daughter telling her that her " dad has differences with the organization " because he never called back on me as he promised to talk again.
as i'm just inactive for 10 years.. so these two older jw ladys come knocking yesterday - one lady about 57 and the other lady older about 71 yrs.old ( i asked how long they had been jw's and told me they both have been in 30 years.

You did a great job, flippy. I always get caught off guard and end up telling them that I used to be an elder, etc. as they back away from the door.
Too bad you didn't have a can of Danny Haszard pepper spray handy.

Thankfully there was no attempt to physically harm these demi-gods. It would only make them icons and they would be replaced quickly from the bench waiting in the wings.
It would be the biggest boost to the to the rank and file since the last earthquake killing tens of thousands.

New JW Bible nickname
by JWOP ini had a face to face conversation with an active jw today.
i was informed that they congregations don't like the new bible being referred to as the "gray bible", so some are starting to refer to it as the silver sword.. .

The "Silver Sword" reminded me that my grandpa would pronounce the word "sword" with the 'w'. No matter how many times he was told it was pronounced "sord".
A new bible is a little treat for the masses of JWs who are bored out of their heads with the '"new light" routine. They thought they knew the truth for umpteen years but now it is all new. Turns out they didn't know shite.
"Oh, OK, that's why armageddon hasn't started yet" Sheep is right.
just for the hell of it, I'm going to ask again, How much $ is the fucker?

People from some cultures are so immersed in superstition that even after conversion to JWs they still get hinky about stuff. My late MIL was that way. She still believed in "kakooeys" sic (we would call them demons or ghosts) and other vague superstitions.

You have to pay child support (I don't know about alimony or "maintenance"). You should pay child support if your daughter is a minor. Unless there are unusual circumstances you should also be allowed supervised visitation. Yes, the long distance gives her an opportunity to discourage you with cancellations, etc.
I have a son who is going through a similar situation. His commute is almost 200 miles one way. He has done very well in keeping his one hour visit appointments each week but the mother of our 3 year old grandaughter is very bitter and makes it as difficult as possible.
We have talked about the possibilty of just giving up and walking away (except for the $ support) but that is really not an option for him emotionally.
