I remember very clearly the night a letter was read to the congregation from the Mother. They wanted to buy the Squibb building but they would follow J Hoovers direction. That is, if the publishers came up with the money. The money poured in. They paid cash for the property.

He was an elder and took his personal study seriously. In fact, the day the drunk driver crossed the center line and hit him head on he had been going over that Sundays Watchtower lesson in his head. When he woke up his whole life had changed. His wife had gray hair, his kids were no longer kids, they were adults. His dog, Spike, was long dead. 20 years had passed in a blink of the eye. The one thought he clung to was "The Turth", that rock of spiritual light that was always there. He couldn't wait to get back to the meetings.
He was warmly welcomed and once again devoured the spiritual food from the faithful slave. He began to have some questions and freely discussed them with the brothers and sisters. At one point he wrote the Society for clarification of the 1914 generation 'new light' and a couple of questions about the blood issue. The replys he received only left him with more questions.
He was disfellowshipped for apostasy a month later.
(this is hypothetical food for thought)

I hope that Flippers spotlight thread on this subject makes some people think outside the "box" for a moment. The Watchtower survives on the time, energy and resources of their followers. To shame people for being self sufficient is beyond hypocrisy, they are con artists..

He doesn't take enought time off. At least he should take more time off someplace he cannot be reached. I says he's working on a plan to get the economy on track and people back to work. September, I think he said. That will be nice because the whole world is looking pretty shaky and so far all he's done is give speeches.

Do you view the word "Apostate as derogatory"
by mankkeli ini just want to know how friends feel about the word "apostate" when being used to refer to them?, do you feel relegated?..
-

I think the word "traitor" could be a synonym for "apostate". So, yes, it is a derogatory term. But the use of the word here is in the specific context of the XJW group. It is more of a wink-wink word. As in the lighthearted "apostafest".

Based on her new domestic situation and the depression she was dealing with, I imagine she's taking a breather.
Best wishes, Syl

trivia on the '47 Fleetmaster. I can see how you could use it for a schoolbus. The backseat was huge and you could stretch your legs out in front. Also a very high roof. To start the car, after turning the key, you pressed the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor with your foot cocked to the right so you could press the starter button with your toes. Very difficult to start the car when barefoot. It was a three speed manual trans. with the shifter on the steering column. Vacuum assisted shifting. Mine had a vacuum leak and at highway speed it would sometimes jump out of third gear so I often drove with my right hand resting on the lever. Straight 6, great low end torque for such a big car but top speed was only about 65-70 mph.

Just to note. All married characters in dramas must be real a married couple. This rule goes back to when the dramas were started. So I would assume the parts of Joseph and Potifars wife would have to be a married couple.
