Neither are "persecuted" today, nor have been for some time. Both of these organized schemes have modified their holy, God given dogma to accomodate practical ($) situations.
I will watch the vid. when I can, but I assume the polygamy, whites only, no flag salute, draft dodgers, early days might have had something to do with this desparate mining for content in todays media market. Australian radio needs something to talk about too.

a group of seniors from a baptist church were on their way back from gatlinburg va. where they had preached to the locals.
their bus blew a tire and veered into traffic catching fire in the accident.
8 people died and 14 others were injured.. how do people of faith come to terms with those considered faithful meeting such a tragic end and causing the deaths and injury of others.. ap news service.
If anyone thinks this is the way God takes people to heaven is a looney.
If I found it necessary to put a beloved dog down I would take it to a vet to administer a shot in a peaceful environment with the pet in my arms.
If god wanted those good believers in heaven why put them through the pain and horror of a fiery bus crash?

The smaller the unit (States should be the biggest) the better it functions in a healthy way. The Federal level was seen by the founding fathers as a limited form of coordination for Justice, National Defense and representation of the people through their state representatives. It's called the constitution. It works well when respected and upheld.
Without vigilance, the cancer of corruption takes hold the more the states are controlled by the Federal Gov.
The Constitution then becomes a nuisance to the aims of big government.

A collective effort does not have to mean a government conceived and controlled effort. That introduces the unavoidable human weakness, corruption. The positive effect of communities who know their fellows and have common needs are the perfect example of collective efforts that work well.

A lot of the equasion is determined by the ratio of producer to consumer. Don't overlook the discouragement effect on the producers, nor an unhealthy entitlement attitude developed by several generations of consumers.
There has to be a balance between the pullers and the riders -
