Really fascinating. At some point they'll find a life form that will be able to chemically assimilate a McDonalds Cheeseburger.

.. a joint project between beshear and answers in genesis -- a christian organization that also built a similar attraction, the creation museum -- the park will reportedly cost at least $150 million and create 900 jobs, according to the news release.. beshear's spokesperson kerri richardson declined to comment beyond what was in her office's news release on the project.. the amusement park, named ark encounter, will include all the modern recreation amenities, including: a full-sized wooden ark, a "walled city much like was found in ancient times, a replica of the tower of babel with exhibits, a first-century middle eastern village" and even outdoor parking.

I really really would love to believe in god (who wants an eternity of nuthin'?). I'm just bitter and twisted and take the pee far too much. I've always had a big problem with Noah's ark when I was a Witness. I used to go through loads of what ifs etc, to make it fit. I commend you for your belief and faith.

Many Millions of people on earth lead secular lives, and get along just fine. Question the idea that you must have a spiritual need. I think it's a fallacy. The Watchtower loves to drum it into the congregations about being happy and conscious of your spiritual need. I am personally more moved by nature and natural beauty, than any mere words and theories about god in any books. Having a good long hiatus in any spiritual thinking can really clear the decks and help you to analyze things objectively.

I'm gonna throw Tammy a bone, by mentioning how quickly and easily a domestic dog (and all subsequent diverse breeds of dog) can be bred from a wolf. (about 30 generations I think). Having said that, I recently watched a programme on National Geographic which touched briefly upon the flood and Noah's Ark. They got a boat builder to make a scale model, and calculated the theorized weight of all animal species, then added it into the boat. The boat collapsed within seconds. Angels must've been holding Noah's together, I tells ya!
At the entrance to the park, are they gonna have a sign which reads 'You must be this dumb to go on this ride'...?

Russia? The whole place is bent. So much corruption. You can get pulled over by traffic cops, and if you don't give them a bribe, you're screwed. I fear that the Russian mafia might try to affect some of the games. I think a lot of fans will just give the place a wide berth. I don't think there'll be much atmosphere at that World Cup. The sentiment was good, but I just don't think Russia is ready for it. As for Qatar, I think Australia would've been better....

And who on earth is gonna want to go to Qatar? Al Qaeda is gonna be doing some forward planning, that's a fact. Playing footy in 50 degree temperatures will be certainly interesting. I think the Russian mafia must've given a hefty donation to FIFA to get the venue. Bloody Sepp Blatter!

Self promotion??? WTF?
AAG, I quite enjoyed your videos on Youtube. It's interesting to see other people's journeys through their belief systems. I don't think it's self-aggrandizing, or seeking attention. These kinds of media help mixed up Dubs to put a face to the person who's writing. I was quite surprised to find that you woke up at Gilead. Hopefully, this will help convince people that are sitting on the fence, to make a positive choice.

Of all the congregations I know well... I would say as a general rule it's 50-50. The reason for this is cos some congs I know, the make-up is mainly all immigrants/ or foreign language. To be cynical, I think a lot use it to get free English lessons. Of the congs with just English people, I would say 70% are born-ins. I think there's a lot of newbies from the Catholic persuasion, embracing the JW religion as a backlash, then there's a lot of basically, uneducated people too.
I think it's really important for people to be able to get accurate info on JWs in their own language. Trouble is, there's still a lot of people older than 40 that have never surfed the net.
