  Pre Armageddon Preparation.

  are there jws who prepare for the tribulations they assume are around the corner?

  when i visted the us once in 1999 i met a few guys who were expecting a global meltdown due to the millenium bug.. as a consequence they had generators, guns, ammo, tins of food, bottled water, fuel, all kinds of stuff to help them through a civil disorder situation.

  does anyone know or remember any jws who have prepared like this?

  interesting points from this week's wt study (dec 15 2010 study edition):.

  par 12: "do i encourage my children not to view the song between the theocratic ministry school and the service meeting or the one between the public talk and the watchtower study as a sort of intermission,an opportunity for them to leave their seats unnecessarily, perhaps just to stretch their legs?".

  why do they have to make such a big deal out of everything?

  I remeber the long assemblies.I remeber once when it was raining and thundering.I was scared the power was going out in the assembly because the lights kept flickering.So I was glad to leave that was in 2005.

  picture the situation:.

  a jw sister, let's call her marjorie, has a non jw father who died.

  she arranges for an elder to take the funeral at a crematorium and marjorie's non-jw husband pays for a reception at a pub afterwards.. marjorie has a disassociated son.

  not the jw "knock on doors and annoy people" kind of volunteer work.

  I volunteered once at an old folks home back in 2007.I also volunteered at a guild theater in the summer of 2010

  wish me luck visiting my JW mum today

  we're visiting my jw mum today for the first time since the df'ing.

  i have put it off for months but we have to bite the bullet at some point and my dad has phoned to ask us to come today.

  it doesn't bode well as she has put her back out and is a little grumpy today but my dad has asked so i don't want to let him down.. .

  Were you afraid of Armageddon?

  i was dfd in 1995 however i still believed it was the truth until 2009. and until then i was fearful of armageddon's day.. i remember every time i'd see a dark sky with thunders and lighting i would question if that was it.

  the news of any major disaster, hurricanes earthquakes would ignite fear inside me and i would think that could be the beginning of the end.. when i was around 8 i remember going to visit my grandma and she was watching the news.

  a major conflict in the middle east had ended and some president said that the world was not in peace.

  Somewhat when I was younger espeically after 9/11.Today I laugh at the Jw's who tell me the end is near.The end their is, is the end of one's life.

  An update on the wife

  i just wanted to let you all know that my wife is feeling great after receiving her kidney transplant last week.

  her labs immediately started coming into line as soon as the organ was attached and as of now are almost completely normal.

  she's obviously having a little pain and soreness from the huge incision they made but overall she's feeling wonderful.

  for all those here who who saw and may have met fred franz.what would he say about global warming, facebook twitter, the death of mitcahel jackson since mitchael was a witness.what would he say about lady gaga, justin biber, usher and emeniem.how do you think he would have reacted to the events of 9/11 and bible prophecy.would he see it as true signs of the end.. so the overall question how would fred franz respond to the 21 st century with it's advanved technolgy and war on terrorism and the economic crisis that this country (the u.s) is facing.please tell us your thoughts..

  If he were alive he would rambling on about how the violence in the middle east is going to spread to the United states and how the world would engulf itself in world revolution.A witness once told me China is going to invade the U.S and we will be enslaved by them.I was like WTF.I felt like saying you know you're crazy right? I mean seriously these people are truly distrubed.

  I like getting other people's input on things.I like reading other people's life stories.I have learned alot from this forum and I do not intend to stop posting on this forum and it really helps to see things in a whole new light.I like also people responses to many things and the deep discussions that we all can have, even if it is not in person it does not matter.That is the beauty of the internet.
