  this is a distrust in people.

  i experience this more as i get older and i am only 20 yrs old.

  does anybody else feel this way.i just see that people are not truly nasty and that things will never get any better..

  I guess your right tec but you see corruption is so rapid in all institutions that a good is squeezed right out of it. All good people off and the evil is led to run amok in our world. So I have just thrown up my hands and say to myself forget it.

  I just feel that for every one that tries to help their are about 1,000 others that want to screw it up.So I just feel that with all the injustice why bother caring.We will never get out of our cycle of war and poverty.

  How High School Helped Me Realize I Didn't Know How to Have My Own Opinion

  i used to get pretty good marks in high school, until it came to situations that required me to give my own opinion.. my social studies teacher used to get quite frustrated with me when it came to anything political.

  we were asked to write paragraphs on how we feel about different issues.

  i always did something like: "this side feels this way, that side feels that way, here are the pro's and con's to each side, then maybe some obscure comment that didn't really state what my stand was".

  I know what you mean. I know do research tp back my claims by real experts not JW's. I form my opinion off of evidence and fact not made up bible stories.

  I just feel that the more things change the they will stay the same. I often realize as I get older that issues such as World hunger and war will never stop and poverty will continue to plaque the human race.So I feel that their can be no point in trying to stop it.It is actually really depressing when you think about it. As children we are filled with innocence and view the world in a naive sense unknown to the fact that somewhere across the world a child is cold and hungry.How is that fair? How is it fair that some people have too much food, while some child say in Africa or South America is starving this makes me angry.I wish I could do something about the injustice in the world but I know I am powerless to do anything because the problem are just too big for us to handle.

  I am not a Cynic either. I just see that things in this world will never change and will only stay the same.So as a result I gave up trying to envision a better world because no such thing will ever exist.

  at a recent assembly, there was a talk highlighting the dangers of higher education.

  the brother used an example of a young girl who went to university, began going to bars, and ended up getting drugged and gang raped - as if this happens to every young jw who chooses to get higher education.. .

  what ridiculous examples have you heard used at meetings or assemblies?.

  I once heard an experince of a brother who went to college in 1955 and regreted it. Then a sister said she never went to college and works 2 jobs and is doing just fine. I was like this cannot be possible. I think even then I was able to detect such BS. You need college in this day and age.
