i remember being terrified on new years eve in 1986 (i was 9 yrs old) because of all the talk that that year was the "international year of peace.

Believing in God is just a cop out to not deal with the harsh realities of life.God does not exist this does not mean a person's life is meaningless it just means that you are free to the course of your action but this also carries a lot of responsibility. Something that must people do not want to face.

The world is a lot more peaceful today then it was say during WW2 or during the cold war.The problem is that we have steady diet of death and destruction on a daily basis on tv.
