i'm scanning through some of the results from the 2012 jw survey as they're coming in.. the most populous of the six voting categories with 76 voters so far is my own category, for those who are inactive, or "faded/fading" (not disfellowshipped or da'd, but no longer reporting time on the ministry).. one statistic already leaping out at me surrounds the question "do you experience 'pre-emptive shunning' from active witnesses, who view you as 'bad association'?

" of the 74 who voted on this so far, 76% have answered "yes" to this question.. it's early days, and obviously i will have a clearer picture of the extent of the problem once the survey closes at the end of the year.

however, the results already in suggest that pre-emptive shunning is widespread among inactive ones, despite this not being an "official" policy of the society.. i was interested in your opinions as to why this may be?

I have learned, from what others do in the cult, ...being honest, heart-felt, only belongs to your significant other, and whom ever "god" you worship "ONLY".

Everything else is to "play the con" just like the very people "who run the con" in the WTBTS. Fake time and lie, and make the occasional appearance when needed.

It is all a lie, "THAT IS THE REALITY"

they actually believe that they are special!

they look down on everyone else because they alone are god's people.

Why not live as the Quakers, if you don't want to be apart of this world?

Why indulge in all the luxuries that technology(Satan's World) has to offer?

How about getting all 7 million followers together (with your Billion Dollar estate) and show the world how we are suppose to live?

Where are your Jehovahs Witness Trade/Vocational Schools,...(other than quick builds or the ones running the printing presses and those who supporting those who run the printing presses?)

The poor donating to the WorldWideWork is giving to the "Rich" = Corporate Welfare

Preaching and Those With a "Right Heart Condition"

this is one of those lines that really helps out when a jw runs into someone who know what they're talking about.. whether it's the bible, or scientific matters, or anything else where someone thy're talking to doesnt' agree with the teachings of "the slave", and has good reasonable points that they are trying to get across.. by telling the flock, and in turn the flock telling themselves that it's because of the persons "heart condition" and not their inability to accept the poor explanations and reasoning required to think like a jw, it insulates them from hearing too many facts that the teaching can't stand up to.. when they (probably unconsciously) sense that they are losing in a discussion, they can always tell themselves that the other person is unreasonable or has that pesky "bad heart"..

Those that fit this category are often under duress, leading to this kind of laziness. It is rare to find someone that just lost a family member (especially a child, and especially if it was to violence), is under extreme physical duress, or that Jehovah has successfully prevented from succeeding in society that is willing and able to expend the work needed to research the Bible itself. Usually, they will default to using the Suffer Forever, False Knowledge, or Washtowel Teach books as their template and using the Bible only to back up the book. And especially if they also have limited or no experience with the Bible or other religions.

This bears repeating,.....and in some way needs to be made into its own thread.

Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs

one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?

if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

The remedy to depression/melancholy is to put "God's will" first. Which means to shut the hell up and pound the pavement doing Jehovah's Witnesses ritualistic activities.

This forum is WTBTS's research and development. Whatever the main topic of discussion is here, will eventually get played out in a Watchtower Mag. in another 6 months.
