If Jesus can turn water into wine, he should be able to send the 70 Disciples off with plenty of Messianic literature and a custom Fendi handbag.

Witnesses at my door today
by Lily Pie inso, i've been waiting for them to do the *rounds* here for a while.
and they finally turned up.. i lead the discussion towards holy spirt and personal relationship with god.
(personal relationship with god is really about interacting with the father, jesus & the spirit, not just the spirit - but i think emphasising spirit is a simple way to get across my point) i was curious about whether or not they had one.

It maybe a good idea to let the Jehovah's Witness" do the preaching, and you do clean-up.

Do not let work get in the way of pioneering
by life is to short inthe april 15th wt is strange and it just throws things in here and there that are kind of out of sort.
i think it sticks in your mind more like hey i probably should pioneer when they throw things in that are kind of in left feild.. like this example on pages 16 and 17 it is talking about making decisions and in paragraph 15 it says "for example a congregation publisher might decide to pioneer.
will he succeed?

Good thing the WTBTS is building Accredited Educational Centers to help their followers learn a skilled trade.
Like the 14 million dollar facility their will built in S.C.

Are you a TRUE Christian?!?
by brotherdan ini've been thinking alot over the past few days on what makes a christian a christian, and i'm coming to some different conclusions than i ever have.... the watchtower likes to use the term "true believers" or "true christians".
i'm at a loss here lately.
you are either an atheist or you are not.

tec -Dan, I tend to agree with Ding on this. We should a) look to ourselves and leave others claims and relationship with God and Christ between them/God and Christ. And b) We should try to recognize false Christs only to avoid leaning on their teachings and being swayed from the Truth, who is Christ Himself.
I also don't like the term 'true' Christian, because it implies that we are judging other people's worthiness as Christians, and measuring it against our own.
Very beautiful statement Tammy!
>>>>>>>>
I was using the term "True Christian" when talking to BrotherD, because I know how obnoxious it is!

Is the Internet killing our sense of EMPATHY?
by brotherdan inthis is a pretty interesting article on cnn.
i can see how we are being desensitized to others feelings.
there are things that i've said to others online that i never would say to someone face to face.

Jehovah's Witnesses - Once Again the Fastest Growing Faith in the U.S.
by davidl7 inaccording to the latest statistics published by the ncc in its yearbook of american and canadian churches, the jehovah's witnesess had the highest growth rate, in 2010 growing 4.37%.
this is, i believe, is the 4th year in a row, that the witnesses had the highest growth rate.
roman catholics grew by less than 1%, as did most of the other churches listed.

davidi7-The couple asked the pastor why, and of course, was given the usual argument that Jehovah is a fake name, etc...interestingly...they did some research, and found pro and cons arguements against the pronounciations Jehovah vs. Yahweh...they decided to speak to the Witnesses to get their take on issue. Witnesses explained that they are aware of the arguements, and one of them noted that their appears to a growing number of scholars that are now saying that Jehovah is the correct pronounciation based on some ancient writings, even though most still think is Yahweh. The Witnesses pointed out that no one argues against the name Jesus (as welll as other Bible names), even though that was not the exact way it was pronounced in Greek or Aramic..The former Baptist also compared different Bibles, and found out that the ASV, YLT, BLE, NEB, LB, Websters, Darby, JNT, etc, all contained the name as the form Jehovah, even though their former pastor, who has MS degree in divinity, was saying only the NWT had the name.
>>>>>>>>>>
No one knows the correct pronounciation of the Jewish God 'Yahweh', and from what I have read the name Jehovah originated for the RCC, which derived from common names giving to god- adonai and elohim.
The WTBTS themselves say in their literature that the use of the name is only because of its popularity and not for accuracy.
I hope you plan to post more often, your post's are entertaining!

Jehovah's Witnesses - Are they loving?
by brotherdan injehovah's witnesses love to claim that they are a true religion because they are the most loving people on earth.
they rant and rave about how they apply john 13:35 to themselves.. in a recent conversation with djeggnog, i was shocked at some of the hateful things that he was saying to me.
now i know that i have been in some pretty heated debates with others, but i try to never make it personal.

This identification of Christian love will be done on a personal bases, not group.
