I Miss Field Service!
by believingxjw inyep, i miss those good old field service days but now i'm not allowed to join in the house to house work.
so i've decided to do what i was taught to do instead; letter writing.. i'm going to take the money i once contributed to the kingdom hall and buy stamps with it.
then i'll give a good witness to many in my area or in my state or across the country.

No one is going to Heaven (and my introduction to the forum)
by sobrino1 ini'm new to the forum, though i had been a lurker for quite some time now.
i studied w/ the witnesses for a number of years, to be specific, for 10 years (since i was a child) but never actually became one; though, i was counted as one in the yearbooks as a "publisher.
" so, as far as i got was as an unbaptized publisher.

the good thing about Sobrino's understanding is that being born again is not restricted to a small group.
sobrino said
"Another thing is that Witnesses often say that only the 'anointed' need to be born again and thus they are the one's that inherit the kingdom, in heaven. That is surely an interesting belief, but equally unscriptural. Matthew 25:34: “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, YOU who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for YOU from the founding of the world. This text very clearly demonstrates and shows that the "sheep", supposedly the "great crowd" of Witnesses, will also "inherit the kingdom." It also demonstrates that the kingdom of God or as Matthew calls it, the kingdom of the heavens, will be on earth. According to Witnesses, this group of "sheep" aren't born again and yet they still inherit the kingdom! Though this kingdom is supposedly in heaven. According to Jesus, not so." To me this is a huge problem for Jehovahs witnesses and they have to falsify almost all of the new testament to support their doctrine of denying being born again to those who have an earthly hope.

Hi sobrino, I like your reasoning. However I have to disagree with you on the phrase "Kingdom of the heavens" and what it means. Stricktly speaking it means Heaven's kingdom.
I agree with Leo that the new testament was written during a time of flux and may different ideas were in currency at the time. To me Heaven's kingdom signifies a different place to look forward to (different to the chaotic frightening situation ensuing at the time). I agree that this heavenly place could be on earth or in heaven though.

ks10-e (official release), Letter from Bro. who scanned it! Newer version with BOE LTRs
by yknot inwhile an earlier version was made available privately the time has come to 'progress'.. conscious class and ex both strongly adhere to not keeping things 'hidden' in regards to wts publications, talks and documents which are circulated in order to maintain it's position.. another wonderful poster (who has yet to give me permission to name) has 'reduced' and 'bookmarked' the first full copy link i was given by our 'winner'.. in this newest and final 'clean' copy link you find two other additions besides the reduction/bookmarking..... the brother who uploaded the entire book wishes all to have a copy that includes both boe ltrs (pre-ks ltr and spiral binding ltr).
also another development has occurred.... the brother responsible for this book being brought into light and put forth for public consumption and discussion has requested i post this letter explaining to 'us' (jwn posters/global audience) and 'them' (wts of penn & ny).. i ask you give attention to his words/ experiences as he is representative of a newly emerging demographic within the conscious class.
so without further ado i give you his link and the 'stage' if you will to 'brother johnson'....... [link removed - contact ynot for further info - lady lee].

welcome brother Johnson and it is great that there is an active conscious class. How despicable and so like the evil the slave to devalue the loving, wholesouled service of brothers like you.
I'm so glad that you have kept a strong heart and soul despite such awful insults.

Do the WTBTS take away personal rights and freedoms...
by Joliette ini tried to explain this to my cousin this weekend, but she didnt quite understand what i meant by it.
she said that these laws (like not celebrating holidays, saluting the flag, not voting(a big one that i dont like) not take blood) its for our protection and doesnt take aways from personal rights.

I think your cousin is correct. Agree with her as much as you can because Jehovahs witnesses are exercising their right not to do those things. you won't win this battle because they remind themselves that not doing these things makes them freer than others.

*Grace* According to JW's. Your thoughts will be appreciated.
by Lily Pie inhi, i'm a bit of a lurker on this site occasionally, just to help me understand my jw relative.
i am so curious to ask this question, but i fear asking a practicing jw, because you know, they can be a tad evasive, and maybe defensive too.

and I think the word charity comes from charis/grace. Charity is given to people not because they are undeserving but because the giver wants to be generous and loving.

grace sounds more joyous and bountiful than undeserved kindess.
translating charis as undeserved kindness is also something I disagree with. I think charis is a noun and an adjective. I don't think Charis is a verb, although this noun does have a relationship with the verb rejoice.
debator I've been reading your posts and you get things very confused.
