Social Networks giving strength to JW protest in Canada!
by koolaid-man inthe social networks facebook , twitter, youtube, etc.
are valuable tools in creating the energy to incite apostates of the watchtower org.
to come out and protest and expose the cover-ups, the child molesters, the shunning and breaking up of families going on in the jehovah's witness religion.. the protest saturday june 25th 2011 from 7 am until 1 pm in front of the pepsi coliseum in quebec city against the watchtower is getting lots of attention on the internet.. protesters are now able to organize and and reach millions of people who have been hurt by this destructive cult.. jean-philippe cossette founder and webmaster of www.watchowerlies.com.

Jehovah deserves to die - according to his own Law.
by Essan inyup, that's right.. if we apply the principle from god's own law at deuteronomy 22:8, that is.. .
"when you build a new house, you must build a railing around the edge of its flat roof.
that way you will not be considered guilty of murder if someone falls from the roof.

god came to die for his own sins

broken promises
Those who "stick their neck out" are merely the visible ones, but it doesn't make them any more special than the person who has lost contact with all their family but choses to be anonymous. Many here have done something in regards to speaking out against the WTS, but they haven't been as public as Ray Franz or Barb Anderson. They're just as brave and couragious as the Andersons and Franzs of this world - just quieter. I have done my own work with family members to help them out - but I don't go about blowing my trumpet about it. To me, it's personal business. And I have the right to be as anonymous as I wish - or not.

excellent points sizemik
thanks for bringing out additional angles. I often don't understand american jargon and often feel left out because of simply not understanding their POV or their humour or how they go about doing things (North americans are definitely the other for me) being more of a quiet worker with a different sense of humour and take on life. And this is also true
Additionally, several I know of (including myself) have put forth strenuous efforts within our own region to mitigate the effect of the WT cult . . . started websites, lobbied Govt agencies, written to news agencies etc. This is largely unnoticed in North America for obvious reasons which I have no issue with . . . but it does create a "tiered" structure here. kudos to you

broken promises, xjws who have been outspoken against the WTS and who have strong reputations for doing so are not leaders. They standout from the crowd because of the stance they have adopted and are prepared to speak their minds. Secondly they have been here for many many years - most know the heartaches and difficultes they have had to cope with. Often in real life they have lost everything. WE love them but they know that if we disagree with them we will not withhold our opinions and in doing so we are all heroes and heroines. We find a connection here with those who have been there and done it and stayed on
You are entitled to say that you think we have leaders here or that JWs who join this forum are expected to tow the accepted line - it really dosen't bother me as I know it is not true. I think you should expect others to come and say so too.

I so agree jgnat. I'd run a mile if there were leaders here and if we were expected to toe the party line.
But it is understandable why newbies ask about this - the only answer we can definitely suggest is that you will find out for yourselves, in time, that there are no leaders here.

Kingdom Hall Assistance Arrangement refusing to pay out
by KHA ini wanted to start a discussion about known instances where the wt society has refused to pay out on insurance claims to congregations who have their kingdom hall insured through the in-house insurance scheme known as the kingdom hall assistance arrangement.. i know of two recent cases in the uk where kingdom halls have been badly damaged by water.
one happened 6 months ago, the other a few years ago.
the congregations have been told to share halls with a neighbouring congregation whilst the wt society asked for report after report on the condition of the building and estimates for repair/demolition.

how sad for the congregations

hugs to you too!
what fascinates me is how effective promotions can be and how they become reality when we want them to be so

thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. like you I often feel stuck as my husband is also a loyal jdub. THis is not an easy situation to cope with and I wish you the best. I am so sorry to hear about your major health problems on top of everything else.
I do courses to fill my time and they give me a great deal of pleasure. Other than that I only see my immediate family so I don't really have much advice to give you. But the suggestions you have been given are great. A friend of mine does voluntary work in her spare time and although her friends come and go she does meet lots of new people. We were having a discussion about friends and loneliness recently and we came to the conclusion that we have been set up to expect too much from friendships by the way that JW friendship is promoted. But really their definitions are a lot of hot air because their ties are based on religion and not on the meaningful emotional, spiritual bonds they promote their friendships as.
So we decided to throw away their definitions and ideals of how friendships ought to be and decided to be open to whatever comes. And then we started to look back and compare some of the new passersby we'd met and decided that they were more real friends when compared to the JW ones we'd been tied to.
