Do you get hassled for posting here frequently?

most people in my life that know how frequent i post on this forum find it very troubling.

i have often been accused of "not being able to let go.

" i don't agree that i post here because i'm not willing to let go, i think i post here because i think this place helps other people and i want to be part of it.

Over the years, each time I saw hypocrisy or had doubts about something, I reasoned, "Well, just because one elder did that doesn't mean the whole organization is like that....this is still God's organization, everyone is imperfect......just because this one CO did that doesn't mean...."

On this board I've been able to view the organization from a higher, global, viewpoint. Now I see it wasn't just that one elder or that one CO; others on this site (perfect strangers, in other areas) have had the same observations/experiences/doubts.

Notice they said, "...because WE don't have anything to say...." indicating the flock comes to listen to their own words. They didn't say, "...because God [or Jesus or the Bible] doesn't have anything to say..."

craziest reason elders wanted to have a commitee meeting with you

i had a sister who was a tenant in my house and her car was leaking oil all over my newly paved driveway before she moved in i had a condition on the lease that said if her car leaked oil she couldnt park there and i told here after she moved in that she was being deceptive to me when she said her car didnt leak oil she was good friends with a lot of powerful elders in the hall and would you believe they asked to meet with me 3 elders in the back room of the library because they said i had called this sister a liar i got out of it only after i produced a copy of the lease and pictures of the oil mess if i hadnt of had pictures maybe i would of been dfd.

When I was a MS, apparently someone told an elder that I was a homosexual - which is not true. Or maybe they said they "suspected". I don't really know. But one day the elders called me in the back and waited for the Hall to empty out. After saying they needed to discuss something very important, they said a prayer. Then they asked me if I was. I replied No I am not. They said they knew I wasn't but had to ask me anyway. Then they concluded with prayer and thanked me for taking the time to talk with them.

Of course, merely being a homosexual or having homosexual inclinations is not a sin and does not disqualify one from being an appointed servant (elder, MS or pioneer). It is acting upon those inclinations that would be a problem.

A werid experiance i had aged 13 with an Elder?

i had a sudden memory of somthing that i had totaly forgotten about the other day.

when i was 13 i can remember a elder in my cong cornering me in the hall and asking me in specfic detail where i got undressed?

not content with being fobbed off with "in my home" he wanted to know what room, did i ever use the bathroom?

Notice that he asked you alone, so that if you had told your parents or anyone else, he could deny it.

Whenever elders have a legitimate reason for asking a personal question - such as when investigating an accusation - they have at least two elders, and they bring you in the back room.

Acutally, when I first started lurking here I thought to myself that "some of these people need to let go and move on with their lives." But as I got more involved in reading posts and the responses, I feel this is not the case. Some who are still in read this board. Some who post here are still in. Others, who have left, may have certain feelings or thoughts, and may wonder if they're the only one who feels/thinks that way; this board serves as as support group. Also, many of the postings help all readers to refute WT teachings and practices, which can be very helpful to those being pressured by active JW spouses and families.

Just lurking on this board, a couple of years ago, helped me firm up my decision never to go back to the organization.

Sure! Looks like FUN! Especially the first one!

The second one looks like a book study group, all seated and paying more than the usual attention, but maybe the person whose house it is has a problem with demons from something they bought at a garage sale and the demon is making the floor swing around to interfere with the divine education work. The witnesses don't seem to notice, though.

Stopping my bible study with the JW's

i had a bible study with jehovah's witnesses and i stopped the studies with them a couple of years back.

Welcome to JWN Salsa Girl! All your observations are correct. Especially the gossip and slander. Even the elders and ministerial servants gossip and disclose "confidential" matters that the flock tells them in confidence; in fact they joke about it. Most are self-righteous and condescending.
