Do the part, display the brochure, have a demonstration to show how the brochure would be presented to an Airline Transport Pilot (who of course did not know the Bible says a spiderweb can stop his jet; his preacher selfishly withheld that from him) accepts it, gives a modest donation, accepts a free home Bible study - or perhaps an engineer who designs jumbo jets - then say:

Then talk about the prophecy of Little Miss Muffet, how she was too busy sitting on her tuffet eating her curds and whey when she should have been out in field service, and notice what happened to her: "along came a spider who sat down beside her and frightened Miss Muffet away." Yes, away, far far away, right out of the truth and right smack dab into Satan's wicked world! Now she won't get to live forever in paradise. She will become as manure on the surface of the ground....but not until after her eyes rot in their very sockets and her tongue cleaves to her palate, and the birds of prey eat up her fleshy parts. Her parents did the best they could. But she wouldn't listen to the elders. Now she is dead.
So, friends, be sure to pick up your supply of these life-saving brochures after the conclusion of tonight's meeting and make definite arrangements to work with someone this Saturday morning. Let us become like those little spiders and crawl about the territory spreading our message that is both irenic and polemic and thus keep ourselves free from bloodguilt while there is still a little bit of time left.

For example I scrolled down to "Sodom and Gomorrah" and learned quite a bit! This passage is not about "gay sex" but rather male rape. God did not destroy those people because of homosexuality (didn't the citizens have wives and children?) but because of violence. Also, Jesus himself never commented on the subject of homosexuality. Apparently (or can we say "evidently"?) it was not even an issue with him.
Sorry to get away from the original poster's topic, but I feel this is helpful information that can help him and all of us disabuse our minds.

On one of those 2 sites (I can't find it now) I read some very enlightening information about the scriptures commonly misused to condemn homosexuality. If I find it I'll PM the links to you because they are very encouraging.

As Rocky Girl said, they only have as much authority over you as you allow. You've already said you don't want to discuss it with them. So if they approach you, just keep saying that even though you don't owe them any answer at all.
If a police officer pulls you over, you are required to show him whatever documentation he requests (license, car registration, etc). If you receive a supeona for a court appearance, you are required to go and to answer the judge's questions.
However, the elders are not in such positions of authority. They are not police officers, they are not court judges. They have no more authority over you than I do. They have seen that you have not been at meetings. Now they know (thanks to this tattle-tale false friend) is it not because you have been in the hospital or overseas or are dead; they can conclude the reason you haven't been there is simply because you do not want to be. They don't need a college degree to figure that out. Nothing else is owed to them.

I know of a few separate cases where murders were comitted during robberies and the offenders got death sentences.
If your county sheriff's office has a website where you can look up public records, start doing searches on names of people in your ciricuit. You'll be surprised at what you'll find. In my county I found out that one elder had been arrested for indecent exposure. Several other brothers had DUI's, and others had driving-related arrests such as driving with a suspended license, attaching a tag from a different vehicle, and so on.

When someone says it's still God's organization even though everyone in it is imperfect....here's an illustration, such witnesses seem to like illustrations:
Suppose there's only one hospital in town. You need medical attention, but you know that your neighbor got an infection in that hospital and was also billed improperly. Over the years some of the doctors and nurses have been charged with malpractice and some are now in prison. Some patients have died on the operating table; others may have been molested by the custodian. The doctors have at times given wrong diagnoses and have had to take patients off their meds and start them on different meds. Many patients are on the internet, posting about the bad care they received there and how they are doing much better under the care of a different set of doctors in the next town. The staff at this hometown hospital, however, keeps warning the townspeople not to go to that other hospital because they will die if they do.
You need medical attention. Just because "some" of the staff there are imperfect, it is still the only hospital in town (just like "in Noah's day there was only one ark.") . What would you do?

Witnesses are brainwashed into thinking that if they are unhappy, it is because they need to do more with the truth, and that will make them happy. Yet most of the human race is not doing anything with the truth, and how many of them are happy?
Happiness is an emotion. If this friend is happy it is because his emotional needs are not being met. He is depriving himself of something he wants, which would fulfill his needs.
