Since you claim Paul never knew Christ, how could he be its founder? Would he not have received his beliefs from some else who passed it on to him? Acts says the name Christian originated at Antioch. It doesn't state Paul founded it.

Akhenaton was an Egyptian Pharaoh (1367 to 1350 B.C.) who promoted worship to the sun god Aton.
Who was responsible for the god of Christianity, whether he existed or didn't?
You state that Christianity was an offshoot of Judaism and it may have been, but who or whom was its origin? You stated "they understood the power of a state sponsored religion and Christ was perhaps a brilliant invention." If you are speaking of Constantine,
he was not the founder of Christianity. It already existed by his time. So who are the "they?"

Joe, since you maintain that history does not support that there even was a Jesus Christ, perhaps you can tell us the origin of Christianity. How did it ever get that name in the first place?

im reposting here an argument that appeared in november, 2001, which received little in the way of meaningful rebuttal.

perhaps rwc and other die-hard inerrantists on this forum will be able to show why we shouldnt believe that matthews claims are ridiculous.. here it is:.

the author of the matthew gospel was by far the most unreliable of the bibles writers, as evidenced by his appalling lack of understanding of the old testament and his willingness to imagine that it was filled with prophecies of the coming savior.. .

Did Jesus actively try to separate family members? I think not. But He, Himself, and His message were a source of separation. If you aren't for Him, then you are against Him. In that respect, I would think, that it is those who reject Him who willingly separate themselves, rather than the other way around.

living forever

i remember when i was a kid i used to assuage my fear of dying with the comfort and knoweledge that i was one of the "millions now living that may never die.

" but even as a kid, i used to think to myself that after a thousand or so years of living with these boring people that i see at the kingdom hall, that sooner or later i would become bored as hell.

after all, everything really fun seemed to be a sin and after a thousand years of bowling with my fellow witnesses and groveling on my knees thanking jehovah for every breath that i took, wouldn't i get bored at some point?

Should gays be allowed to adopt?

i watched an interesting program last night (i believe on primetime), wherein diane sawyers interviewed rosie o'donnell.. the topic centered on gays and adoption.

rosie recently came out of the closet in order to extend her support to florida gays who are prohibited by law to adopt.

rosie, herself, has three children.. some of these gays, by the way, are foster parents.

I watched an interesting program last night (I believe on Primetime), wherein Diane Sawyers interviewed Rosie O'Donnell.
The topic centered on gays and adoption. Rosie recently came out of the closet in order to extend her support to Florida gays who are prohibited by law to adopt. Rosie, herself, has three children.
Some of these gays, by the way, are foster parents. My questions are: Do heterosexuals make better parents? If they do, why are there so many children needing adoption? The majority come from heterosexual parents, not the opposite. Are gays born that way or do they choose to be gay? Is one's sexuality based on choice or preference? If it is learned behavior, can it be unlearned? Can
an exclusive heterosexual become gay or vice versa? Would children reared by gays become gays? Why or why not?

Occult pictures in JW books?

my 19 year old son show me a site on internet where they show a lot of pictures from our books, and if you look very carfully you can see ddifrent ocult signs, or perhaps guess it is something like this, someone here who have knowlege of this things here, it was new for me, and very confusing, perhaps i give you the link later.
