I honestly look forward to that!!!
NO STATE should have a "Statue of Limitations" on Child Rape either!
I would like to add, on any rape!

Is attacking the Watchtower really helping the abuse victims? I still honestly feel from my own personal experiences in this matter that justice lies in the changing of the laws. Truth lies in realizing that there are many more victims out there at the hand of religion that need help too.
I offer a challenge
Someone find out what states do not have laws to protect the children. States that do not require religious organizations to report abuse.
Then, lets direct our energies to starting the process rolling to get that changed.
Who will accept my challenge?
If you do, you will be taking a step towards helping the "worlds" children. I stopped looking at people as groups, when my eyes opened to the love the Witnesses concealed.

my armageddon story.
i crouched with my family by the heavy lead-lined door.
a dozen faces around the room stared back at me, eyes wide, skin sickly in the weak fluorescent light.
Very nice post

Okay, to me I found this whole concept of accusing people that were dead, disturbing. I think ...
concealment of allegations from the police and child welfare agencies rather than the abuse itself
... will fall on deaf ears as people who read this will see it as a sick attack from an apostate. Sorry to be so bold, but face it. This is what they will think. I have to ask though, how is this letter sent by Bill going to help change laws in states that do not require religion to report child abuse. This whole letter sounded like a personal attack. I would also like to add that the reference to those on file, is not a positive thought. If you do a little research into history, you will see an example of this type of reference in something very negative.
Also, do we help abuse victims by feeding their hate or by helping them to rebuild a better life in a more positive type of thinking. (Just wondering)

i would say that i get up each morning in a pretty good mood.
i get ready for work, drive there and then go about my business.
because people want to give you the anger to make them feel like others are having a bad day too, when you bounce it away.
COMF
It comes down to perspective and feeling on the matter though. For example, body language can be a big factor. Is the person coming up to you with sadness and tears, or a look of despair. That would be a different feeling all together. What though if they are coming up to you with the angry stiff look of someone mad, does that change the reaction? To me it does.
If someone vents like the person I mentioned, great! Just like steam out of a pot though that vents when it boils, it leaves and disappears. My point is more, do not let the steam catch on you and let the cycle start all over again. As a added note, this employee in question always wants to keep the staff angry. So by frustrating her with not carrying on the subject, I have forced her into a corner of either finding something good to say about life or stop bringing everyone down.
I do want to note, friend and staff member are in two totally different categories with me. In both though, they can vent, just do not expect me to join a cause of thought that you yourself developed.
This is kind of a fun conversation.

Just a added thought ...
When someone is angry or hurt. Does it benefit them to build their anger and stand by their side yelling with them, or would it make more sense to help rebuild their happiness?
I just wanted to add that, I as I know sometimes as a friend you do need to be someone who listens to venting. I just wonder, what benefit comes from accepting that anger and running with them on it. One of my best friends always has the greatest phrase when people vent to long.
"Don't let it eat you up!"
I like that, because if we feed the "ball of anger" it will grow so large that it takes over our entire personality.

Right now the child is easy ... still in my wife!
I just live by "quick to think, slow to anger"

It's like I said above, are they venting or teaching? My employee today, was teaching. When I am "pissed" I tend to calm my own thoughts first before I accidentally pass on my anger to others. Just my way of handling things, to not let to much emotion take over my thinking in rough moments. Basically, I try to keep my "core thinking" solid in good times and bad.

have you all heard about the murders going on in the md/dc/va area?
an unknown person has been randomly shooting people going about their daily activities beginning this past wednesdayat 7:41 am, a man mowing his lawn, at 8:12 am, a taxi driver, at 8:37 am, a woman sitting on a public bench, at 9:58 am, a young woman vacuuming her car.
there have been two more murders today.
Pretty sick, I thought! They say he knows what he is doing though, so you never know if he will be caught.

<Dodging the ball>
I have noticed that some vent and some teach. Meaning I have seen people vent, have me help and walk away feeling fine. Then some vent, I listen or add feedback, and they teach me at that point that their anger is better. That is the risk, is the person venting or teaching? Never know sometimes until it is to late.
