  What if you admitted you don't mind being destroyed @ Armaggedon?

  isn't that pretty much the end of a conversation with a jw?.

  honestly, now that i think about it, what is the difference between judgment day(armaggedon) and death?.

  just curious to see how my friends and relatives would react if i responded that way... .

  I'm pretty level-headed (aka not crazy or suicidal) and I've thrown out the comment that I wouldn't want to live forever. The looks on my families faces were pretty priceless - as if the idea had never occured to them, or that it is so absurd. "Of course, you want to live forever, everyone does." They assume it's such a give-in.

  despite this man's facial hair and no mention of religion, he must be one of jehovah's witnesses, cuz surely no worldly person would be so honest.. serioulsy, he credits his parents.

  it always irritated me that whenever a witness does something good they have to throw in "as one of jehovah's witnesses ...." as though they were implying they would otherwise not have done the right thing.. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chibrknews-man-finds-17000and-turns-it-in-20110609,0,6950954.story.

  ...the one person in this world that i called brother passed away.

  i miss him so bad.

  he haunts my thoughts every day and i always see or hear something that rips open the hurtful wound that i got the day he died.

  as a bible based organization, how do feel jehovah's organization should be reformed?

  the answer is quite simple in christendoms churches:.

  1. reject false doctrines like the trinity and 'all christians go to heaven' and use of images in worship.. .

  its crazy!

  im a single dad of 2 kids and i gotta work like 70 hours a week just to get by.

  just to pick up a loaf of bread and a jug of milk is like 10 bucks, nevermind a whole grocery list!.

  $10 for a loaf of bread and a jug of milk? $5 for a converted (from litres) gallon of gas? Welcome to Canadian prices, my friend. However, it seems to all balance out with the lack (largely) of healthcare insurance here.

  There aren't many options left.

  @Unshackled: the idea that God must have a spirtual body in the same sense or physical characteristics as the one he gives his creations upon ressurrection is so laughable as to be embarrassing.

  most of us posters who are here at the moment cant have failed to notice philidephia ponos got a kicking, the guy had a legitamate point, re elders and ms who are still in and who post here.

  what was his crime ?

  he had the temerity to lable them as hypocrites, which they are.. later on jlp brought pps previous difficultys to light, a fact most posters here were probably ignorant off.. anyway that guy got such a shafting for telling the truth about what happens here, personally i think he should be applauded, because he demonstrated courage in the face of overwhelming adversity, which should help him with dealing with his difficultys in his work place, if he can cope with the adversities he has experienced here, he will have no problems in dealing with his (secular) workplace.. i have only been here for 8 weeks, and within that short timeframe i already see the group dynamics of our time at jwn unfold, i see alliances being forged, the subtle use of language and samantics as posters here seek advantage and seniority, and want to adopt common ground, to advance themselves as leaders and spokesman, this mirrors my 13 years of being a jw, it seems to me that ex elders and servants display the same characteristics, they employed as jw,s and expect them to work here, which they do.doesnt say a lot about jwn.. anyway a young guy, still learning the ropes, gets anhilated here its not much of a recomendation to post is it, ?.

  in the past, you were told that you have the opportunity to prove the devil a liar.

  this is a nonsensical claim, given that about 2000 years of martyrdom by christians has already passed.

  there's nothing left to prove or disprove.. however, you have the opportunity to prove that the watchtower society is lying: that their organization is unclean and overrun with corruption - as proven by an endless stream of elders/ms's and publishers who come here, wishing that they could leave.. you also have the opportunity to prove that their published statistics are false - by reporting fake hours and placements.. if they don't like it, too bad.

  @MS : because God created everything, including the angels, although that makes it interesting how the angels interact with God if he's outside of the universe. Although the WTS says He has a specific dwelling place, they're careful to not say that he CANNOT be everywhere at once, as that would be saying God has limitations, and that would be bad, but instead simply that He chooses not be everywhere at once, or at least that's implied.
