Did Jehovah Destroy Jesus's Pre-Human Spiritual Body?
by VM44 indid jehovah destroy jesus's pre-human spiritual body?.
as jesus could not have two bodies at the same time, his "spiritual body" could not continue to exist while he was "human.".
it is said that jesus came to earth as a human, but if his spirtual body was destroyed, what was left to "come" to earch?.

Unwaivering Faith Disproved by 11 year old Niece.
by OnTheWayOut inme: well it's kinda complicated.
they think god exists according to various beliefs, but that he is all powerful and does all that is best for everyone.. (she collapsed in laughter at this for a full 2 minutes then composed herself).
mary: so they really think he is all powerful and uses his power to do what is best for everyone?.

"Evidently" the benefits and morality of providing true free will outweighs the resulting evil that invariably results.

Well, it was really Baltimore that choked it away.. they had many chances to outright win it in that last drive..

Lots of upsets (Saints and Packers gone??? C'MON) so far, but Brady looks nigh unstoppable. 40 minutes to kick-off and it's going to be 2 great games today.
As much as I like the NHL, the NFL playoffs are pretty great too. It's ONE game, FOUR quarters and that's IT. No 2nd chances, no 7 game series, and usually 80,000 people watching. It's really a Romans carnival all over again :)

'rule' verses the spirit behind the rule (public prayer)
by tec inthe issue surrounding tebow and his public praying, as well as those who pray over their meals out at a restaurant, got me thinking a little about 'rules' in this matter.. and i think that some people have overlooked something.
christ said not to be like the pharisees and hypocrites who 'showboat' their prayers, out in public, seeking praise from others.
if you pray in private, there is no 'showboating'.

I'm not sure Christ giving thanks in public in front of a few people can be compared to praying on national american TV, with about 35 million people watching..
Edit: and giving thanks for food is a tad different than giving thanks for the pointless and offensive pastime of football..

if god hates wars...why does he use a war to end them???
by highdose inthis question occurred to me the other day.
the classic jw presentation is all about how religon starts wars in gods name, how awful they are blablabla, and how soon god will end all these wars.... with a war!
wtf?.

Well, you certainly can't beat the sort of logic that comes of cognitive dissonance, tec. Kudos!

@tec : "For one, God will not kill an innocent."
Wow, really? You HAVE read the Old Testament, right? Plenty of innocents dying by God's direct command in that collection of books..

I've wondered about this for a long while, as the Scripture where JW's take the Jehovah's name (some where in Isa. 43 ?) applied only to the original nation of Israel. Fast forward to modern times, and the JWs have the practice of applying the (fore)shadow doctrine for the original Israel nation to the new "spiritual" nation of Israel ("Israel of God").
Naturally then, anything that applied to the old nation of Israel only applies rightfully to the spirtual nation, or the 144,000. Thus, a non-anointed JW cannot rightly use Isaiah 43 as backing for taking God's name as identification. Only those of the anointed could properly be called Jehovah's witnesses.
