I was disappointed in their selection of "Rock" artists.
It wasn't my idea of rock music.
Yeah AAF would have been good.
Definitely overboard with Alicia Keys.
I got bored with it and flicked it after a while.

44th Grammy Awards Discussion
by LDH in1. ozomatli's grammy for "embrace the chaos" was actually a make-up grammy for last year.
their self-entitled cd last year is the bomb--but embrace the chaos is only ok. ozomatli is a street band from la and if you haven't listened to them, you are missing real talent not just samples and hooks.. 2. nelly furtado got snubbed.
i thought it was pathetic, the way alicia keys won everything.

I gotta agree that "Lord of the rings" was a let down.
I had trouble staying awake during it, in fact I slouched right down in my chair and snoozed.
Woke up and hadn't missed much.
How bad is that, I live in NZ. -

I GIVE UP...............
by ThiChi ini give up!!.
after the post regarding the "jw fact sheet" and all the good, damming info there, i would like to share this:.
a good jw friend visited me in the cover of darkness last night to say hello (i am da).

So true TC.
I gave up talking to my mother about these issues.
I even pointed out the double standards and hypocrisy in her own congo.
But she is forever saying "it's a perfect org. run by imperfect men".
Makes me wanna barf!!
She has been Dfd twice, and still goes back for more.
She should have had this info while she was out and able to reflect on the way they treated her.
But now and then I will drop a few bits of info to see if she bites.
Who knows, one day she might. -

Meeting Clothes
by Smoldering Wick indoes anyone want my old suits?
i only wear them to meetings, so i haven't used them for years.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=22552&site=3 .

Kep
I've still got all my suits from the JW days.
What a waste of time, I lost so much weight that I look like David Byrne from Talking Heads....
I am currently sorting out the spare room and the wardrobe will be emptied. No need for them now.
Yeah a post-dub "do" site would be cool. -

Has anyone circulated factsheet to local JW's?
by Nowfree ina group of exjws in the south of the uk are considering putting together a factsheet containing information about:.
a) the wtbt involvement with united nations, .
b)the lies told by the wtbts to the court in the case of jehovah's witnesses v bulgaria in the european court of human rights.

I reckon you are more likely to get results from exJWs who have not been freed mentally.
Yeah they're out of the org, but trapped in their ways.
I know I was for over 6 years.
Maybe then, these ones who have family still in it could pursuade them.
As noted, they will do a "local needs" and any who find a flyer in the mail will toss it.
As a child it happened once, and my Dad (nonJW) read it, but my mother burnt it and nutted off at Dad as if he was apostate. -

Spring clean
by edster ini've just tossed out for recycling my nwt bible, greatest man book, book of bible stories, live forever book and other assorted jw memorabilia.
the house is less cluttered now with less shit hanging around.
you guys should do a spring clean as well.. .
-
Kep
No spring clean for me, but we will be heading towards winter.
No need to stock up on too much firewood, I've got plenty of fuel to kept the potbelly roaring all winter !!

Hello...may I post here?
by KistByQpid ini've been lurking here for some time now.
i'm not a jw, never been a jw, and don't plan on becoming a jw...however my life has been effected by the jw's whether i like it or not (dad's death/mom's conversion).
seems most here are exjw's or jws...so i'm not too sure if i'm welcome or not?
-
Kep
Welcome Qpid,
I would have thought your mom would be able to answer some of your questions by now if she has been baptised for 2 years.
It's a shame you are unable to have a religious discussion with her. Did she go to another church before she went JW?
Does she understand that your children, her flesh and blood miss her?
Then again, "freshies" to the JW are a bit overboard and get all spiritual and cling to their spiritual family.
Why dont you get your kids to write to her and draw her pictures, then post them. Maybe she will get the message. -
