KM Sermon for April, "We are providing a Public Service"
by Quarterback injust thought about the suggested sermon for the april magazines in the km.
it suggests that jw say that they are doing a public service.. a public service, is a service that is rendered by the government.
doesn't that writing commitee know the meaning of such words.. i wonder if they are trying to mislead by using this wording, or, they just don't get it..

What's the strangest thing you've heard someone seek counsel with the elders about?
by keyser soze inpersonally, i never went to the elders with anything(not voluntarily, anyway).
but a friend of mine once asked a couple of elders whether it would be acceptable for him and his wife to make a sex tape, for their own personal viewing.
needless to say, the idea was frowned upon..

Wha happened: I would have had an answer for you. I would have told you, "Don't worry, I think that you will receive the heavenly calling and won't need to drink milk"

There is a letter to the BOE about Elders using Iphones. This is meant to not frustrate the poorer members who can't afford to get them.
Elders are told to use them under their radar.
I attended a KH that had the Elders School going on. On the outside door, it said "No Cell Phones",
They now have technology that lets them know if your cell phone is on, They use them at testing centres at schools and universities to catch cheaters.

This talking to Elders about masturbation, is not really a strange thing. I've heard of other crazier things.
The soc's publication's kindof push you to talking to someone mature to assist you to break that habit. Unfortunately, confidentiality is not respected.
When that secret is blown open, it really disheartens a person who feels so ashamed. It has unfortunately made some young ones commit suicide.

Mem invitations
by AnonJW ini have heard quite a few reports of how the invitation work has not been carried out as enthusiastically as it was last year.
during the 2011 campaign, many due to the reduced hour requirement pioneered for the month, some congregations had over 50% of its members doing this.
this year it has all changed, and even though some have made an extra effort, not nearly as many as did last year.

We didn't get as many A Pioneers this year as last. Last year was horrible weatherwise. Some barely made their time. The weather was much better this year, and that had a better impact on increased activity in our KH....but, a reduction in A pioneer.
The reduction in hrs (30hrs) is a novelty. This will fade out with time.
I hate the titles, the quotas, the bragging.

LETTER TO THE ELDERS...Hot off the press!
by Momma-Tossed-Me inwill post as soon as i get a clearer copy!.
but in a word it says, "in an effort to not place a burden beyond what our brother's can bare the governing body has decided to make the tuesday night theocratic ministry school, service meeting, and bookstudy optional.
this new change will relieve financial pressure on the congregation and allow them to put our efforts and valuable things toward the work we are scripturally required to do.".

Forget about your exams - go for a weeks ministry June public WT
by dozy inbearing in mind that every experience in the watchtower has some kind of agenda behind it , what about this experience of a london girl going to ireland to preach & have a holiday.
i was just waiting for the inevitable "i came home & passed all my exams with flying colours.
" but it didn't say.. and what kind of responsible parent would take a child on holiday so that she could " take her mind off her exams.

Funny, this made me think about this young fella in our congregation who missed a lot of meetings because he had to study for exams. His parents always bragged about his Chemistry grades.
He is now selling shoes.
He is good at picking the shoe polish for the shoes. I guess that chemistry did him good.
