Your Take On 30 Hour Pioneering

the gb has magically reduced the hours sufficient for being an auxillary pioneer for march and april to 30.. this is my take:.

It is a spin that the Soc is using to get more hrs from the members. The numbers of those willing to Aux pioneer in Mar and April were falling when it was only 60 hrs. Then, magically the quota changed. There is also pressure on the Body of Elders to participate, too.

We've come a long way from the days of 75 hrs a month, and when you wanted to do it the following month the quota was 100 hrs. Of course that was the days of the "Lamp Book".

The soc has been creative with this new approach, but, like everything else it will eventually run out of steam. I give it less than 5 years.

You are really not very different from many today who attend the meetings due to their loved relatives and mates. There are many moments that I find it hard to tolerate some of the programs, and my wife also gets the same way. We just carry on, and hope.

i was sitting in my car, finishing an egg mcmuffin before going to the grocery store when i noticed a dubbie going around talking to people in the parking lot.

i thought the chances were good she would approach me, and i decided i was going to do more than decline to take the pamphlet.. after i verified she was a jw, i said that i was a former member.

Good approach, Joe....hope you get over the flu. But, some have made out quite well financially, even without an education. This world has it's survivors.

I remember 1969. I attended the DA in New York City that year. Those were my rebellious years. I did my serious job hunting in 1977. I had to take some college courses back then. I went against the grain back then, but, now many are envious of my pension, and lifestyle. It's sure sad to see that many have suffered financial consequences for bad advice from four decades ago, and we are still being told this story.

Good for your courage.

Very interesting videos, I just didn't think that Gerrit understood the experience he related. He is really not an intelligent man. I think that both are just loyal to the anti Higher Education rule. But, they certainly don't provide good argumentation against it.

I thought that Anthony was very open about his concern over the convincing power of some professor, over the Org. He seemed to blame the parents for sending their children to college. But, really? Is it not, because some want to work at something more reasonable, instead of spending your time knocking on doors of homes when people are not home, or because the people at home just do not want to answer their doors.

I thought that the Pioneer position was having sex 50 hours a month, unless, it's the month of March, April, or when the CO visits your congregation. Then it's only 3o hrs of sex for the month.

In it's place, is a new light for me. So now we have to figure that out at our next family worship night. What if we decide the wrong place? Can you have other places, or only one place? In the past I have used the bedroom alot, but, we did use hotel rooms, and other bedrooms when visiting relatives(they weren't with us, I mean privately) Many we should have a question box on the KM to provide further clarification.

I Got disfellowshiped..wana die!

i jus got dissfellowshiped at th last week..i feel like dying..i attended th meetings yesterday and ita ws jus horrible..came back home in tears....... people i used to cal my friends nw cant look me in the eye..so heartbroken confused and giving up on life !.

Hi Chi,

Don't be too caught in this moment. It passes by quicker than you think.

You will feel alone, abandoned, and sad. This is the effect that the DF will bring. There have been many good comments made on this post to show you that many do care about you. Here is the important thing to know. Jehovah does care about you, too.

It may be easy for you to hurt yourself more when you are feeling this way, but, try and bring up your strengh. When next week comes, this experience will feel like a dull pain.

hello, so i have decided to da myself and will write a da letter to the body of elders.... do you have any ideas of what i can include in this letter or samples?...

i really want to make a huge impact with this letter.. i appreciate your help everyone....

A sample of a simple DA letter:

" Date

I do not wish to be a member of the Jehovah's Witness congregation at this time.

I will view any further contact from any of the Elders as a form of harassment.

If your life, and standards don't offend JW's, then writing a DA letter is wasted. What you need is just a time out from the belief system. Just act peacefully with them while you distance yourself from them. This makes it possible to allow peaceful future returns to some friends that you may respect, and have missed.

If your life or standards are in conflict with their belief system, write the DA letter. But, the less written, the better. You, don't want those who will read it, to hang you on everyword that they may missinterpret.

Whatever happened to the "Fall of Babylon the Great" and the "drying up of the churches?

i am from the era of the babylon book, and all the wt predictions that the churches of christendom would "dry up".

the book babylone the great has fallen god's kingdom rules, said people would leave the churches of christendom, in droves and the ministers would have no more people in their churches while "god's organization" would see a tremendous increase, a huge overflowing great crowd, all streaming into the watchtower and coming to the "faithful and discreet slave" for instructions.

thirty years ago there were six million jw's , today after the "great increase", and " great crowd" is now ?

I really think that we are going to get some new understanding on the meaning of Babylon the Great at some future Annual Meeting where all the new points seem to be announced these days. It may come within the next five years when the matter remains silent and dormant until then.
