  JW Wife complications

  hi, my wife became a jw about 25 years ago and at the time while it all sounded crazy to me but i could see not wrong and have no problem with people having a religion , it started to become apparent that her choice of religion was almost cult like with all the controls in place.

  we no longer have a social life together as she will only be with clan members not wordly people and i have stopped going round to her friends houses for get togethers becouse i am sick to death of being questioned and mocked about my beliefs,hearing other religion being called so harsh,wordly people being talked about as if scum and all the other haughty talk.

  i am not allowed any material in the house that might be apostate,satanic?

  Welcome to this Forum. I will say this much though. Your relationship with your wife is proof that interfaith marriage has merit. The WT has tried to prevent this from happening. But, the females outnumbered the males and they are told to stay celebate until a male appears.

  You're a good man to want to stay with your wife, and for the sacrifices you have made.

  hi all so my family had their c.a.

  last weekend and my mother dropped this one on me, she'll now be treating me as a df'd person per info she received from a talk at the assembly.

  apparently a fader should be treated as "bad association" given the fact they up and left the holy "truth" to splash around in vomit.. .

  told my husband to put a muzzle on my mouth over the blood dogma.

  we all were driving around in field service when the topic of "which fragments would you take if you were in a car accident or cut yourself badly".

  said his choice is a personal one, another sister with chronic health problems said she had no problem with the governing body's new light on taking various fragments.

  JW's planning for retirement

  i had an interesting discussion with a jw family member recently and he brought up his plans for retirement.

  according to his age bracket, this will not be for another 20 years or so.

  he plans to buy land, build a house, move the parents nearby.

  I realized that this thinking of saving for your future took off a few years after 1975. Before that date, everyone was just about trying to pioneer, or get some recoqnition in the JW cong.

  It wasn't openly broadcast to one another about taking a night course, or investing in business, People who did so were judged and gossipped against. They are the ones now laughing at the gossipers. They are sitting on a nice retirement as they see the economic picture of those who lived in a fool's paradise struggle.

  greetings, soup lovers:.

  i have a huge kitchen at my disposal (not my own); vegetables, cans of this and that and spices are scattered about, prepared to go into a cauldron of minestrone i started a few days ago.

  i'm preparing ahead so as to freeze the leftovers to heat up later at home over my hotplate.. nothing like a 6-burner gas range to simmer over!.

  unfortunately she still does not know ttatt... the good thing is that my wife (her mom) is not shunning her!.

  i gave my daughter love & comfort and told her that nobody is ever going to divide us, i might not be happy with all of her choices and decisions but i just want her to be happy.

  my family is still asleep and still thinks this is the truthtm and my wife wants her to come back.

  Continue to show love, and let her know that your door is always opened for her when she needs your help.

  I unserstand about the matter of not approving some of her choices, but time will go on and all of this will be in the past. Commend her for any improvements that she makes.

  What is happening in Mexico?

  i have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.

  jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

  I never liked it when the parents of a Rich country would drag their kids down to a third world country, just so they can obtain some honor or name for themselves as a "Need Great. Server"

  The Society recently has admonished the Spanish Mexicans to go back to their roots and help out in their mother tongue. That is why the English cong's are dropping. It was just a Honeymoon stage for the Spanish Mexicans who had hopes that if they changed to the English, they could marry a person who came from a rich country, and take up residency in their country to improve their economical status. A carrot was dangled in front of them, and now it is crushed.

  What proof do we have? How did we pass the inspection in 1919?

  with the new light, the governing body apparently passed the master's inspection due to our focus on preaching the kingdom at that time.

  we were the only ones doing this according to the july wt re all those changes.. but, were we really doing this in 1918?

  i thought it was only the colporteurs.

  Well with the lack of clarity on why they make this claim, I'm still puzzled.

  It sure reiterates that question during the last days, "Who really is the Faithful and Discreet slave?" This question is unanswered in my mind.
