why did the watchtower downplay homosexual sex acts preventing a innocent spouse from remarrying?

there are groups through various countries who don't believe homosexual sex is "fornication" and men are allowed to keep their wives and men can go on "the down low" possibly infecting women with h.i.v., why did it take decades for the watchtower to say homosexual acts are grounds for a divorce?

the watchtower's teachings are the most unstable of all the fringe religious groups in america, they can't get things right that christendom knew about for thousands of years (almost two thousands to the critics), so why follow a group who can't read the bible?.

Back then the WT had a different view of what adultery was. They assumed that it was sex between the two genders, and homosexuality didn't count.

Nowadays, the WT society has broadened their view on what adultery is

Letting go of Highly Qualified Men

i have been posting for a few months now and have read the life stories of tech49, confusedandalone, winston smith and other brothers who have held prominent positions in the organization who were dismissed not for any gross sins, but mainly for not keeping their child toeing the line.

they have been "cast aside", nit picked to death, and made to feel unworthy for their years of dedicated service.

even in my case, having my best friends treat me like the plague to jockey for position of recogntion.. is this what the organization is resorting to now?

Yes, an Elder's family must be exemplary. That is written somewhere in the publications. The scriptures also speak about the condition of the Elder's family. However, that being said I find that there are two standards.

One for the Elder whose family is in the teachings, and another for the Elder of the Unbelieving wife.

No one cares about the example of the family of the Elder's unbelieving mate. He is just simply left alone.

But, the Elder who has a challenge with some of his believing children, this is shocking. "Throw that man out". "Let him learn to qualify, again, after some time has passed" After some considerable time those unruly kids will be embarassed, or moved out because of what they have caused. Perhapps those rebellious kids will have feelings of guilt. A great punishment for kids that didn't quite have the maturity, and were trying to figure out life at such an early age.

I beleve that there exists a reason for Elders to step down based on family circumstances, but, I don't think that it should be done in a Wicth Hunt mentality.

Marriage In The New World

okay, here's the issue.

some people, even some jws, believe that in the new world they will be reunited with their spouses.

jesus, however, said that in the resurrection there would be no marriage or giving in marriage.

You raised a good point, Bobcat, re "the sons of this system are given in marriage etc..."

I forgot and always overlooked that statement. Another good point that was mentiond was that "it wasn't good for man to live alone, so he made a helper for him, a complement"

So in a human environment, Men and women, are an Entity that is natural and goes along with the perfect divine plan.

Jehovah, also stated a command for man and woman. He stated, " fill this earth and subdue it." So the gift of procreation, and it's desire to do so would reach it's limits in a perfect world. Then what would happen? Would women no longer be a helper to man? or, Would a woman no longer be a complement, or would that union of one flesh terminate? I don't think so. The whole purpose of having both genders is to balance one another. The human society needs balance, even in a perfect state.

Today, the marriage vows end with the statement, "till death do you part". So death annulls a marriage.

The GB is right is saying that they don't know the answer to this ressurrection question. If one is ressurrected to a Spirit creature, then there is one gender, and don't need this couple arrangement to balance human nature. If you are resurrected as a human then you would be incomplete. If that makes any sense, or, if I'm on to something, or maybe it's this rye that is confusing me.

I remember in the early 60's publishing and putting in my FS report in a box. Then after it was posted on the publisher card, the Cong Servant (name back then) pinned everyones on the bulletin bd for everyone to see, and you were advised to go and retrieve it off that bd.

Fast fwd to the time I was a secretary. I got tired of asking this individual publisher for his report. Then the CO blasted me for not hounding him, and two other Elders paid him a Shepherding visit. He was so angry at me for spealing the beans on him that, he updated me with the last 6 months, and post dated 6 more reports for the next future months.

That guy never went out in service for years.

Use Of Electronic Tablets At Meetings

My congregation has quite a few people on Gov't assistance, and for sure they would be jealous, er, stumbled if I used my Ipad on the platform.

Some have already approached me to lay claim to my Ipad should I want to replace it for an upgrade. But, they have made it clear that they can't give you any money for it.

Child Molester dies and has a chance of resurrection

recently, in our community, a well known child molester died of old age complications.

his victims were jw's who have had to bear those horrible memories.

they are strong, and very faithful as to jw standards.
