I saw reference to this in the morning news. This picture of the suspect burning the American flag while showing a reverance to the Confederate flag is really disturbing.

The Confederate Flag
by Simon inthe latest controversy over the confederate flag just sums up to me the state of dysfunction that exists in american society.. in summary: a white supremacist nutter shoots 9 black people dead in a church.
he's clearly inspired by the messages of others which the confederate flag is often a symbol of.. it seems like a no-brainer to remove it.
not only isn't it removed, it isn't even lowered at all as a mark of respect.. and of course now there are the people who want to defend their right to have it.

Wives who complain about their husbands work schedule but refuse to get a job

she brings it up constantly about how they would do this or that but he has to work that saturday.
i think she should get a job and then he could find a lower paying 9 to 5 job..

I knew many wives that complained that their husbands worked too much, and they didn't offer to work prt ttime to lessen the financial burden. It's a challenge to make ends meet today. I was fortunate that I had a great job that didn't make me work on weekends. I'm thankful that the cong and my wife saw the advantages of both spouses working. The poor wives that complained all their lives have had to force themselves to work because their husbands have burned out, and the retirement income doesn't make ends meet. I only remember 1 CO that complained about the wives working. His wife eventually had a nervous breakdown and they had to cancel the CO work. Both of them are working, now -

No More Money!
by Hold Me-Thrill Me inas of this june (i've already given my may contributions which are substantial) i am no longer giving money to support useless building projects that serve no good purpose.
i am no longer giving money at conventions or assemblies.
i am no longer giving money toward the circuit overseers upkeep.

I did the acco a nunts for over 9 years. I love the freedom when I was given a new assignment. I never did write a cheque or ask for a receipt. I usually provided cash. The only ones that knew I was contributing was to ones that spied on whoever was putting money in that box. I would give Visa Gift cards to the CO's and pioneers in a thank-you card. Trust you it wasn't millions, and not significant enough to claim it on my taxes. But, it was more than adequate.I too am bummed out with those financial request bombarding the cong, and I refuse to give anything more.

Last night's bible highlights: David was wrong to greive for his son!
by purrpurr inlast night's bible highlights was really eyebrow raising!
the brother pointed out at lenght about how david had wept when his son absalom was killed.
but that because absalom was killed while opposing jehovah that means that david was wrong and weak to greive for him.. it was applied to today by saying that if our children are df'd when they die then we should not grieve for them either!.
