Calm Down Everybody, We Will Know Soon Enough
by OnTheWayOut inseriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.
it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.
they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

I speculate that the TMS is not cancelled. I believe that it will be transferred to a different night. Like Family Worship night. There you have it. Now each parent is the TMS councillor, and gets to practice their skills on thier kids. -

Any thoughts on the real reasons for droppng the 'school"
by sparrowdown inmy thoughts are.
1. they want to avoid being made to comply with any laws that come with anything classed as a "school" especially a school with children enrolled.. 2. the mid-week meeting has been dying in the ass for years and needs a revival.
i predict happy -clappy-sing-a-longs to be included in the program.. anyone else have any thoughts ??

I would say the reason for rebranding the school is because of the dropouts. You had students in that school that lasted longer than a person who had to go to school to become a Dr. The students had worked on every counsel point with flying colours, only to find themselves being tested again with a failing mark from the Counselor. It was the Merry-go-round that lasted for decades. It started as a hidden agenda to allow women to teach in the congregation then ended with everyone crying, "Enough already". -

Pope praises the Wild Beast (UN)
by Quarterback inthe pope stated at his un address that, "if it wasn't for the un's work on the world's conflicts, the world would be alot worse".
i just wonder how that statement will be taken in jw land.

Why isn't demon possession a DF offense?
by rebel8 inlet's review: it's a cult!.
allrighty--got thinking about it in this thread.
isn't it odd that, of all things, that isn't on the list of df offenses?

I think that you can be Marked for this. They will put a big "C" on your shirt. For Casper the friendly ghost. -

Locally a few studies were started. Some do attend meetings. Some that were DF'd and DA'd have contacted the congregations. -

"So that we will not be confused with salesmen, it is best not to mention the donation arrangement unless we are asked..."
by Island Man in"so that we will not be confused with salesmen, it is best not to mention the donation arrangement unless we are asked how our work is financed.".
this damning quote is found on page 1 of the september 2015 our kingdom ministry, the last sentence in the 3rd bullet point under the sub-heading how to do it.
this quote amounts to an implicit admission that the jw practice of mentioning the donation arrangement to householders at the door, makes them look like door to door salesmen.. why would "jehovah's organization" be engaging in a practice that is nothing more than a transparent attempt at undercover soliciting?

Is this a subtle clue that the leaders really see the "great tribulation" of the WT coming soon?
by never a jw insimilarly, we cannotexpect that the future interruption inthe great tribulation will result in aninflux of new believers.
rather, it willbe an opportunity for all true believersto prove their love for jehovah andgive their support to christs brothers.. (par.
7, page 16, wt july 2015).

I can't remember which paragraph it was in the WT study article. But they stated, "There is a lot that they didn't know, about the Great Tribulation". That statement I agree with that part of the WT study. -

I've decided to make a difference that REALLY matters
by Mrs. Eden inhello friends!today is a sad day for me, as seven months have gone by since my mother passed away after a decades-long fight with breast cancer..
because the witnessing/preaching/teaching work doesn't make any sense to me anymore; because it's not about any "truth"; and because it's basically useless, i've decided to quit doing it.
instead, i've decided to do something that actually can make a real difference in other people's lives.

Here is the funeral talk outline. VERY discraceful.
by stillstuckcruz inthis is truly terrible.
i just love the statement "instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a fine witness concerning the truth.
" in other words, utterly disregard the deceased.

I've noticed that recent funeral talks seems to talk more about the deceased with a mixture of some association with their faith. Of course it does depend on the speaker. I've attended Funeral talks at Bethel, congregations with Bethel speakers, and Local speakers. I must be in the age group of those on the Grim Reapers list. If I not careful, he just might be looking forward to expand that list.
