Very tiny change to Service Meeting Announcements protocol.

for those who want to keep up with the "pure language", i found out this week that at the most recent elder's school, they were told that the announcements should no longer include the following:.

1. name of public talk and speaker for sunday.

2. synopsis of all the parts that are coming up on the rest of the service meeting.

This will be forgotten in time, and we will still continue to call this the Bulletin Board. Last week, I saw a thank-you card on that board.

It's so crazy to see what the Soc tends to split hairs over. They have no control over the boredom of meetings, low attendance rates, low service hours, people leaving their marriages. Marrying outside of the faith. But, that Bulletin Board....Heads are going to roll over that one.

Tintin Movie and My Computer Geek Son

went to see tintin in 3d last night with one of my sons and sat through all the credits waiting to see another of my sons names appear.. and there it was !!

very exciting.

he's a render wrangler at weta workshops in wellington and works long late hours transferring stuff into digital format (as i understand it).. i used to despair of him fiddling with computers and linux and it junk until he emerged a year ago with a degree and got asked to go to weta.

I always enjoyed the TinTin story books when I was a child. It was very popular in Europe, and in the Eastern Part of Canada. It had a lot of adventure and suspense. When I found out that the big names were buying the copyrights to this story, I couldn't wait to see it developed on the screen.

You must be proud of your son's acheivements. Good for you.

The Secretary who is a bill collector

i heard from someone in another congregation who said that his congregation secretary was also working in a collections job.. can you imagine, getting a monthly call from him?

"hello brother tony, i noticed that you didn't report last month, and your account is overdue.

wouldn't that be a nightmare, in this recession?.

I remember a fella over 30 years ago who had suicidal tendencies. He started to study with JW's and managed to think positively to avoid those suicidal thoughts. The last I heard about him was that he went back down that path. The cong saw the signs, but just ignored him. Sadly, he took his life about 15 yrs ago. He really had some mental issues, and you needed to be patient with him. The WTS gave him 15 years of optimism, but, it wore off. Well, the WTS will propably say that this man will have a resurrection.

Does anyone know if there will be a funeral talk at the KH for this fella?

JW Cable TV Installer Counts His Time.. Home owner very pissed off !

the directv guy came by today to install our new dvr.

a pretty simple install as i already installed the telephone line, and the amp/switch box is about 5 feet below where the extra line needs to run.. .

so all the installer needs to do is give us the new dvr receiver, run one coax line, plug it all in and leave.. .

Some whip the cream, batter the fish, and beat the eggs.....such cruelty.
