Check out (Luke21:12-19) in your nwt and see if you think it resembles anything that is happening in your congregation or part of the world. And while you are at it check out the asterisk attached to the word soul and tell me why the nwt refers to soul as Or, "your [future] lives."

Only ever spent two weeks at bethell, but I am convinced the cost of having that kind of free room and board could be debilitating.

by Knowsnothing init's true.
last night, a kid got marked for having worldy friends.
the usual no friendship with the world texts made its way in.

Remember back in the day when it would sometimes be acknowledged that "some" worldly kids might be "just as good or better kids than some dubs" BUT still they did not know Jehovah.

Are they right in using that term "the christian ministry" I think it is a real stretch to think that these people were involved in anything close to what they infer by using that expression.

LA Times Front Page - JWs Treated Without Blood
by BizzyBee ininteresting article on the la times front page this morning about a doctor in fresno, ca who treats jws without blood.
he only promises to repect their wishes, not that they won't die.
jw patients flock to him from all over the world.

But what is the view on stem cell transplants. An article in awake seems to be against them.

How can this situation be okay?
by Lynnie inmy cousin is an uber witness and elder and has been for 35+ years.
he has a daughter and son-in-law in bethel and a daugther and son in law that are pioneers and one daughter who is "on the fence" about the whole religion.
his sister is an inactive jw for 35+ years and her husband is a deacon at the local episcopalian church.

Yup!!! Even "pretend" not at homes can be productive. You know, those people that were at home and didn't answer. Like the goofy field experience where the publisher takes the initiative to talk, even when no one answers the door. He talks to the dog that he knows is there because he hears it behind the door. And lo and behold the householder, who is really there, listens and blah, blah, blah. I forget exactly how it was supposed have gone after that but the householder probably got baptised and went on to become a pioneer LOL.
