Couple of questions for the Christians here - CO's talk mentioned some things that I want to understand
by Doubting Bro inthis is a question for all the christians on the board.
i sat through the first co talk last night which was basically a plea to not give up preaching.
one of his main points was that no one else had "the truth" and every other person that claims to be christian is in error.

If they can convince "thier dubs" that the "world" (everyone other than they themselves) are bad, then it is easier to convince that they are good.
Same with thier christendom teaching. Christendom (all religious dogma/teaching) other than they themselves are wrong. Makes it so much easier to prove that they are right.
It's like my brother says, while acknowledging that there are many problems and issues. God has always had a channel of/for truth. He's been convinced (and yes I was too) that all other religions are "bad". What does that mean - JW's have got to be the channel.
I know that this seems totally off subject, but what I am saying is that everything the co said is watchtower bullshit.

we are so concerned about safety that we must feel up a 6 yr old who wants to board an airplane only to have those who's job it is to make sure planes can take off and land safely ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!.
what would happen to you if you were found sleeping on your job????.

Part of my point is about how difficult a job if (and yes it was union/contract related) it is. if the qualifications are so stiff how were they able to replace them.

Can We Please Stop Referring To The Simplified English Watchtower A The Dumbed Down Version
by Philadelphia Ponos ini really shouldn't have to say any of this but as someone who is in the process of learning a second language, i can tell that simple language makes things a lot clearer when you are not familiar with the language.
everyone on here started out reading simplified english while they were learning, including you native speakers.
i'm sure no one here was reading on a college level in elementary school.

I think this has been covered, but for emphasis, they (the gb) are not interested in anything but a more efficient process to spread their cultish idea's. They do not care one iota about education as in helping persons learn. The new version is simply an effort to make the doctrines that they peddle easier to sell to the unsuspecting students/followers. Does anyone think this will produce ability to give deeper thought to thier slant on doctrine. Or will it simply make it easier to convince that they are right.

dos it really matter if someone drinks the wine and eats the crackers??!
by highdose ina big part of every memorial i ever went to was given to drumming it home that unless you were anoited you couldn't partake.
and everyone would be watching the "strangers" as their turn came, ripples of horror would go round the congregation if they dared to nibble or sip(!).
