They don't know what to do....

have been going to a few meetings to support my kids that have to go with their mother.

i knew it would be a powerful lesson for them to see how these loving people treat their father who da'd a while ago.

couple of elders tried to corner me the 2nd or 3rd time i went to remind me that i cant talk to anyone.... i however reminded them that i am not df'd and i can talk to whomever i want to.

This is certainly not a very long term thing. We have definately moved on from the petty way of life of a dub. Through a loop hole in our divorce setteltment my ex has chosen church as an extra curricular activity and is able to take our children on their weekends with me to church and service. This is my way of supporting them even though we all know that we all dont want to be there.

cat face.... you can always talk to anyone you want. The problem that you run into is if you get into people's faces then they can ask you to leave and I personally am not looking to do that.

jook... i am not trying to win anything except the hearts of my kids...... while i grew up w/ a lot of people here they are trapped for sure. My goal and I have said this numerous times before is to make sure my kids do not grow up and choose to be witnesses. Its a huge reason why I don't beleive in fading if you have children. You have to make a clean break. No family member or friendship is worth your children's freedom.

I want my kids to learn from this experience of my attending now so I generally play by the rules as I dont want to be asked to leave.

At the last meeting I see a guy that used to work with me and my dad laying carpet (seemed like all the brothers in mad town area layed carpet) in the parking lot pulling in. Havent seen him in god/allah/thor/fsm knows when. Nobody else in the parking lot so I rolled down my window and said "His Name, how you been?" and then put my hand out the window to shake his hand. He had a very serious look on his face, like he wasnt sure if he should shake my hand or just keep walking, but he slowly walks up to my car and said "are you coming back?" I looked at him and said "NOPE" So he starts to walk away because he clearly thought my answer was going to be "oh yes, I am working so hard to get my watchtower studied so I don't die at armageddon"

They cannot comprehend what to do or say if they dont get the company line said back to them. They have study after study and meeting after meeting all so that they can get spoonfed on what to say to people. They are not encouraged to think for themselves and it clearly shows when they are confronted with someone who will not play their game.

By the way, like any normal person before I drove off said "good to see you and I hope your family is doing well"

My wife and i, cake for our daughters...hm

so recently it was my daughters b-day and my wonderful wife thought of a great idea....lets get her a cake.

so some family came to town and we did cake and a few gifts.

interesting developments as my wife and i have not been to the meetings in abouuuuuut a month....and have been incredibly irregukar in attendance the past six months.

keep it up John! No embarresment or lack of "friends" is worth your children having to grow up as witnesses. Ever since I woke up I have said, if you have kids then you need to get out... yesterday!

i've been busy with with being busy after knowing ttatt.

after this sunday's meeting i was invited over by one congregation elder's wife to an afternoon coffee.

we're not very close because of the age gap but we've "known" each other for so many years now, being in the same congregation.. she is like the anchor of the group.

As a born in ex I can see how you would feel sorry for her but that pales in comparison the issues that would have been forced on an innocent child that would have been raised a jw.

Its for the best she didnt have any.

Hey blondie...

Its just for summer scheduling. My kids mother is still in and I wasnt sure if they were announced yet. I will be waiting with baited breath until I hear from her.... not. I am hoping that my family vacation is during the same time because then my kids wont have to go. Thank you for the link though ( and all the other posts of yours I have read throughout the years )
